Beomgyu did not want to go home yet, so he had called his father and told him that he would spend some time with his new classmates. He had agreed and said that he would pick Beomgyu up after work.

"How long have you two known each other?" he asked Kai and Mashiro, as they seemed quite familiar with each other.

"Since freshman year of high school," Mashiro said immediately, her bouncy walk seeming like she was walking on air. "Kai has always been striking," with that she smiled and shrugged, both hands wrapped around a loop of her backpack.

Beomgyu nodded, not considering flamboyant a negative.

"I find your manner very refreshing," he said, turning to Kai, "At my old school, a great many ... had a stick up their ass."

"Sounds exhausting," Kai chuckled, amused.

"That sounds terrible!" exclaimed Mashiro instead, for she was the sort of person who displayed an open manner, in every way. And at every stage of her existence. "I'm sure they were such rich snobs, just fulfilling their parents' wishes. Is that why you moved?"

Briefly, Beomgyu hesitated.

He didn't know how much he could and wanted to reveal in front of these two strangers. On the other hand, he had had to lie a lot in the recent past.

And Beomgyu was just tired of it.

"I was ... bullied," he confessed as a result, but avoided looking them in the eye. "It was precisely such 'rich snobs' who beat me up. That's why I went to my father." Saying it made the experience seem even more surreal. But the uneasy feelings that spread through him proved that it had been real.

And that a lot had changed since then.

Not only the distance to Yeonjun, which made it harder.

Holding his breath, Mashiro looked to Beomgyu, as did Kai, who stuck his lower lip forward.

He didn't quite know how to show sympathy, since he had never really been good at it, but the girl took care of that for both of them and stood in front of the newcomer with a short sprint.
