For quite a while, Yeonjun lay in his friend's bed, staring at the ceiling and letting his mind wander. Above all, the thought of Beomgyu's words was buzzing around in his head.

Maybe something had happened after all, and Beomgyu just didn't want to tell him about it so as not to worry him?

The blond sighed loudly and rubbed his eyes when suddenly the door opened quietly. Immediately he straightened up and turned off the starlight, because he didn't want Jaeyi to know that he sometimes engaged in this activity. Actually, he didn't want her to know that he was in Beomgyu's room at all either, but now he couldn't hide anymore. But it wasn't Jaeyi who cast a long shadow through the gap, which was illuminated by the light, but Hanseo who stuck her head into the room and looked around. Then she came in and pushed the door shut behind her.

Since Yeonjun had turned off the lamp, there was complete darkness in the room, so the little girl could not see her stepbrother. Nevertheless, she walked toward the bed, followed by the soft tapping of her bare feet, and as she placed her arms on the mattress, her small hands brushed against Yeonjun's knees.

Startled, Hanseo squealed.

Her stepbrother laughed lightly, leaned toward the lamp, and flicked it back on. When she recognized him, he flashed her a soft smile and patted her head. "Are you okay?" he asked slowly and clearly, even using a gesture.

Hanseo nodded slightly, then climbed onto the bed so she could crawl onto her stepbrother's lap. Her arms wrapped around Yeonjun's neck and pressed her cheek against his chest. She wanted to comfort the blond boy, just knew that Yeonjun missed Beomgyu as much as she missed him. For that reason, she didn't have to answer the older man.

And it really touched the elder how empathetic the little girl was, which also made him gently stroke her hair. He was aware of the good relationship she had with her brother, and he would love to have Beomgyu join them so he could spend time with Hanseo as well. He hated this situation, but it was important to him to be there for her, even if she was more there for him right now.

"Thank you," he whispered against her head, knowing she could feel the vibration.

Again the little girl nodded, humming lightly to let Yeonjun know she understood him. But it wasn't long before Hanseo lifted her head and pulled her arms back so she could talk to her stepbrother.
