Beomgyu's mother, Choi Jaeyi, was crying.

Her son's words had affected her deeply, and she had been too upset to talk back to him much, or even to run after him. And she knew - even if she didn't like it - that Byungho's son would be there with him to reassure Beomgyu.

Yeonjun would be there for him, less than her.

She felt like she had lost her son.

"He was upset, you could tell," Byungho said in a soothing voice as he stroked her back.

"Yes, but he used to talk to me about it," she replied with a heavy heart, realizing how far she had already drifted away from Beomgyu. What a mess this situation had already made, and of course she kept thinking about her son's words.

Had she really acted like her own mother?

Her parents, Beomgyu's grandparents had never been very happy about Hanseo's condition. According to their tradition, their granddaughter was cursed.

Had she treated Beomgyu like that too?

"I should talk to him. He must know that had never been my intention."

Byungho nodded in agreement. "Give him some time to calm down," he said quietly, "maybe he needs a moment to come down."

"Then you want me to leave him alone?"

"Maybe you'll wait until tomorrow," he replied to her, at this you could tell he was worried about both parties.

But Jaeyi shook her head, had her hands on her lap and kneaded those nervously. Also harder and harder. She would have loved to follow her partner's advice, but the pretty woman shook her head again. "I have a really bad feeling, though. I know Beomgyu is starting to get his head screwed on. And if he was already claiming such things, he seemed to have been thinking about it for a very long time. I already didn't realize my boy was being bullied at school and now I know how he felt. I can't have him lying up there for three hours thinking I despise him ..."

Jerkily, the mother of two stood up.

"I have to sort this out!" she announced, marching briskly around the couch to go up the stairs and knock on Beomgyu's door.
