CHAPTER FOUR

Its times like these wish I had a time machine...

VALENTINA.

It's currently Tuesday,and it's time for math just another class I no longer share with my best friends but share with Asher.
Asher doesn't sit next to me this class today,he sits by the other corner and today he seems oblivious to my presence. All that's left is him telling me he no longer wants to be partners.I'm completely consumed by my thoughts I don't even notice Theo sit next to me until he speaks up.

"Earth to Val,"Theo says snapping his fingers in front of my eyes.
"You know Val for someone who has great observation skills you have terrible focus "he adds .

"I was just distracted"I say to Theo .
Theo is one of the school hotties,if it wasn't for his intelligence you'd think the only reason he is head boy is because of his good looks .Maybe that's why they make such a great team with Bree because they are both walking perfection.

"What you thinking about"Theo asks me taking out his math notebook.
"I'm thinking about why the mighty Theo is sitting next to me all of a sudden"I say resting my head on my palm looking at him.

"Well technically,I'm not mighty in front of you because you tackled me down in self defense yesterday,and to answer your question,i like the view from here"Theo winks at me.
Is he seriously flirting with me.
"Are you seriously flirting with me"I ask him and he lets out a chuckle.
"I don't know,you tell me is it working"he says smirking at me and I roll my eyes .

"You're gonna have to try harder than that"I say focusing back on my books.
The math lesson begins but I can barely focus because Theo keeps sending me notes with cheesy pick up lines and by the end of the lesson my cheeks hurt from holding in all my laughter.

"Is your Bluetooth on, because I feel a connection between us"Theo says immediately our Math teacher leaves and I burst out laughing earning a few stares from my fellow students.

"Seriously you look like that,and that's the best you can do"I say trying to catch my breath.

"It's a work in progress Val,but I'll get there and I'll sweep you off your feet in no time"Theo says Zipping up his back back up
"It doesn't hurt to dream"I say laughing slightly and Theo just smiles at me before walking out of class.I begin to pack my bag when I feel some ones gaze on me .I turn and I find Asher looking at me,he doesn't say anything,he just gets up and walks out of class.
Weird.

Lunch time goes by so quickly and right now I have a free period but I have to attend the dance committee meeting because a certain head girl signed me up.

"It's gonna be fun I promise"Bree says to me as we leave the dorm.Mal can't make it because she has projects she needs to finish up so it's just Bree and I.
The rest of the way to the auditorium is filled with Bree telling me how I'm going to enjoy this so much but frankly speaking I don't think I will.
We arrive and Theo is already here,what I don't expect to see however is Asher sitted alone in the audience. A few other pupils I recognize are here as well.
Soon the meeting starts and after countless debates I did not care to participate in it's finally decided that we should do an under the sea theme for the dance.
We all agree to meet back here tomorrow to the start the preparations and everyone is dismissed.

"Thanks for coming,Val I'll see you at dinner"Bree says smiling at me before leaving with Theo.
I'm about to leave when I hear Asher calling out to me.

"Valentine wait up!"Asher says running towards me.

"What's up"I ask him as he approaches me.

"I want to tell you that we can start working on the paper tomorrow, Headmaster Reynolds lifted my detention on condition that I join the dance committee"he says answering my question as to why he was here in the first place.

"Oh okay,that's great"I say not knowing what else to say.

"You're going for Archery as well right,let me walk you"Asher says and I look at him dumbfounded .Is he really offering to walk with me to class.

"Yah sure"I reply giving him a smile and we head out.
We start walking in awkward silence and I decide to initiate the conversation.

"Have you ever read, entangled?"I ask him looking straight ahead avoiding his eyes.

"A couple of times,it's a good book,I know you're going to love it"he replies and I see him smile.

"I hope so"I say and it goes back to silence. Really Awkward silence.

"I read the Addicted to you series as well"Asher says. The addicted to you series was my favorite series in middle School,and I can't believe Asher read it .He was never the reading type.

"Really?"I ask.

"Yah it's a good story and I like that in the end Dylan found her healing at last,to me that was her happily ever after even if she didn't get to be with the love of her life"Asher says and I can't believe he just said that. He articulated the series so accurately.

"I agree with you,even if it did hurt me that Dylan never got a second chance at love,at least she was finally happy in her own world"I say and Asher nods.

"Do you think Dylan never moved on because He was her one true love,and believed she couldn't love again"Asher asks.

"He was her one true love yes,but if she wanted to move on she easily would have,I think her decision to never love again is based on the fact that she felt that she can't love someone as much as she did him,rather than not being able to find love again,she was still young I'm sure if she wanted she would have found love again"I say and Asher is looking at me puzzled.

"Well that's one way to put it,and whatever happened I'm just glad she was happy in the end",Asher says and we arrive at the Archery field.
"See you around Valentine"He says and we separate.

I don't like this class because I'm terrible at aiming and shooting .I rarely hit the bullseye and sometimes I don't even hit the target itself.
Mr Gardener arrives and begins the class.
It's gonna be another long afternoon of missed targets and lectures from Mr Gardener.
