CHAPTER NINE.

This dancing was killing me softly.

The dormitory is beaming with life as girls keep running up and down, getting ready for the dance .
The Auditorium looks, great, people look gorgeous,and most importantly I'm excited.
"Alright,I am done"Bree says spraying setting spray on my face .
Mal hands me a mirror and I look gorgeous.
"I love it,thanks Bree "I say getting up.
Bree's make up is already done and it looks perfect,her hair which is usually in curls,is now straightened giving her a more defined look.
Mal's make up looks amazing also and her hair is neatly piled on her hand,with a few deliberate strands framing her face.
"Let's start getting dressed"Bree says pulling out our dresses from the closet.
Bree slips easily into her dress which she pairs with clear heels,and some jewelry,she literally looks perfect.
Mal equally looks amazing in her gold dress as it hugs her perfectly.
I slip into my blue dress and when I look in the mirror,.
"Girls you look so damn gorgeous"Bree gushes and I can't help but blush.
"Same to you Bree"Mal replies.
We are busy doing our final touches when we hear a knock by the door.
It's Adrien standing by the door and immediately he sees Bree he's eyes light up.
"I'll see you at the dance girls"Bree says before heading out. Today is one of those days the boys are allowed to come to our Dorm.
After a few minutes, Gabriel picks up Mal and I'm left alone.
It's been ten minutes since Mal left and no sign of Theo,he told me he would come pick me up.
Did he ditch me.
I'm done waiting so I decide to go the dance on my own.
"Val!"Theo pants immediately I open the door.
"Look who finally showed up"I say sarcastically.
"I'm sorry for being late,their was a mishap in the Auditorium,I had to attend too"He says and I can see him checking me out which causes my cheeks to heat up.

"You look lovely,"Theo says smiling at me and I can't help but smile.
"You look,good as well"I say.
He's in a black tuxedo that fits him perfectly in all the right places.
I smile when I notice the blue bowtie identical to my dress.

"I got you something as a thank you,for coming with me to the dance"Theo says and hands me a blue rose.
I can't help but smile at his gesture.

"Thank you,I love it"I say before adding,"shall we".

"We shall"Theo says extending his arm.
We walk to the Auditorium in comfortable silence,and it's fairly packed.
Everyone is looking good tonight. We arrive at the dance and I don't miss the curious looks everyone is giving me .We find an empty table and take our seats.

"Can I get you something to drink"Theo asks and for some reason he looks nervous.
"Theo,are you nervous"I say teasingly.
"I'm not"he defends but he is a terrible liar.
"Really,anyway juice would be fine"I say smiling back.
He leaves and I decide to scan to the room.
A bunch of people are already on the dance floor,I'm about to look away when I see Asher dancing with Alexa. He looks perfectly happy with his arms around her and I feel a pang of jealousy in my heart. I shouldn't be feeling this way,I shouldn't be sad but I am and then the realisation hits me like a ton of bricks.
I'm still helplessly in love with Asher.
But I shouldn't be. That was the reason I walked away from him three years ago. That was the reason I avoided them but now I realize those feelings never faded they were just hidden.
I'm still looking at them and my heart feels like it's breaking into a million pieces.

"Val,is everything alright "Theo asks.
"I'm fine,"my voice cracks but I don't dare look at him .
There's a brief pause and I'm hoping he doesn't ask anything more,atleast not today.
"Wanna dance"he asks and I can't help but look at him.
He's smiling at me,and it's a genuine smile.
"Sure"I say getting up.
He sets down the drinks on the table before extending out his hand.
I take it as he leads me to the dance floor.
"This is a great song"Theo says wrapping his hands around my waist and I just smile.
We begin dancing but I'm not really feeling it,it just feels like I'm moving side to side.
"Val,don't you wanna be here with me?"Theo asks as we abruptly stop dancing .I meet his eyes and he look genuinely hurt.
I feel bad,Theo doesn't deserve to suffer the just because I'm sad,he's been nothing but nice and I'm here ruining his night.
"No Theo,I ..."I start but he cuts me off.
"Val,if you didn't wanna come to the dance with me,you could have just said so"Theo says and before I can reply I see him walk away,I'm left on the dance floor alone.
"Val,are you alright,I just saw Theo walking out"Bree says walking up to me.
I can sense her concern.
"I'll be back"I say to Bree heading out of the auditorium. The hallway is filled with people kissing, holding hands,doing couple things and I probably look like Cinderella when she ran away from the prince.
"Cindy, have you seen Theo"I ask her .
"I saw him heading to the gym"She replies and I ran off of them gym.
It's dimly lit and I can see Theo's outline by the bleachers.
"Hey"I say walking to sit beside me.
"What do you want"Theo replies not even looking at me once.
"I'm sorry for what happened,I was just not myself"I say.
"You don't have to lie,I know you weren't having fun with me"He says and I look at him.
He's got it all wrong,he thinks I was doing that on purpose,but I wasn't .
I have to fix this,even if it means admitting my worst secret.
