I was in the living room doing some morning stretches with Abuelita before school started. Elena stood knocking on the bathroom door bothering Alex and trying to get in.
"That's two. That's three! Oh, my God, five? What's going on in there?" Elena saus counting the flushes Alex made.
"The first one was for pee. And the last four were to piss you off." Alex says coming out the bathroom.
"So you're basically murdering the planet just to spite me?" Elena said as they both walked to the living room
"Yeah, and it worked." Alex says smuggly.
"Ay, it's impossible to be Zen in this house." Abuelita says, giving up on a peaceful yoga session.
"You know, it's bad enough that you take 40 minute showers." Elena keeps prodding at Alex.
"I have to use water to get ready. Every time I show up at school, there are all these eyes expecting perfection." Alex said gesturing to himself.
"And you give it to them, papito." Abuelita says playfully slapping Alex's head.
"Easy...It's setting." Alex said, using the toaster's reflection to fix his hair.
"Mija, why are you in your uniform before you shower and get ready?" Abuelita says to Elena as she handed her breakfast.
"I am ready, Abuelita." Elena says confused.
"That's what I was afraid of." Abuelita says.
See... Elena doesn't put in much effort in her appearance compared to me and Alex.
Alex, spends almost an hour on his hair, and asks Abuelita to perfectly cuff and press his uniform.
I always put product in my hair to give my curls shape, or at least brush it into a neat ponytail. I also tuck my shirt into my skirt, and apply light makeup.
Elena however, usually wore a messy bun, and not even in a chic instagram way, literally just tossed up however. And the fit of her uniform was unflattering to her. All together it kind of makes her look like a slob.
