3rd Person POV:

In the living room of an LA apartment, a 12 year old boy sits on his laptop with his headphones in.

Behind him his mother opens the front door as she struggles to carry the groceries.

"Alex. Alex, help." Penelope, the mother, says to her son. Throwing some paper towel at him to get his attention.

"Papito, let's go! You know I got a bum shoulder. I need help over here." She complains.

Alex carries a single bag to the table and then sits back down on the couch.

"Thank you. Next time I'll Skype you." Penelope says.

The curtains open dramatically as an older woman appears from the converted dining room. Penelope's own mother, Lydia.

"We have a problem." Lydia says

"I know. The hipsters have discovered Porto's. Line around the block is like the freakin' Apple Store now." Penelope says, putting the groceries on the dining table and thinking about how long it took to get her coffee this morning.

"Mom!" Came two voices from the back.

Emilia's POV:

"And those two, I don't like them anymore." I heard Abuelita say as me and Elena walk out of our room.

"I don't care if you like me." Elena says, standing next to the dinner table.

"Sounds like you're both on the same page." Mom says as she continued with the groceries.

"Your daughters do not want to have a quinces!" Abuelita says.

"What? Why? We already booked the room, and I found a great band! Okay, it's a DJ. Okay, it's your brother with an iPod and a playlist, but it's a very good playlist." Mom says from the kitchen, looking over the counter.

"We researched the history of quinceañeras and found out they're totally misogynistic." I explain to her.

"She's been reading again. Why do you let them read?" Abuelita says throwing her hands up dramatically.
