Waking up with the sun, we began preparing to go back down into the pit. Josh had thought about what we might need before hand and crafted us some miner's backpacks. When we equipped the packs, it gave us twice as much inventory space as we previously had.

"Ok. Now we're ready to do this. Food, check. Weapons, check. Armor, check. Supplies, check. Let's do this," I said to Steve and Josh as we prepared to jump into the pit. As we jumped into the pit, I thought I could make out the outline of a person watching us from the tree line. Then it was gone. We were instantly surrounded by darkness as we plummeted to the water pool at the bottom of the ravine illuminated by torches.

*Splash, Sploosh* and a *POP* as we hit the water pool at the bottom of the ravine. Getting out of the pool I noticed Steve with a gash down the front of his chest. "Steve what did you do?" I asked beginning to dry myself off.

He grimaced as he ate a pork chop. "I belly flopped," he said wincing.

"Dude, you're an idiot," Josh said as he climbed out of the pool.

"Oh well. Let's go explore this abandoned mineshaft!" I yelled as we started heading towards the mineshaft. The first thing we noticed about this mineshaft was that it was freaking massive with a billion branching pathways.

"This is going to take a while, isn't it?" Steve asked disappointedly.

Josh spoke up, "That just means that we will mine a lot of ores in this large area."

"Well, we will just have to do it. Let's get going," I said taking our first step into the shaft.

Trekking through the shaft we found a bunch of coal, iron, and gold. "So what do we do now? We've been exploring this abandoned mineshaft for quite a while now," Josh said as he checked his backpack.

"This is taking forever. I mean we are still good on food and supplies, but I feel like it has been forever since we have seen sunlight," said Steve as he laid out on the ground.

I had realized this a little while ago, but I didn't mention to them that we had gotten lost. "Um, we should probably try to find a way ba-" I got caught off by the sound of a spider spawner. We rounded the corner to find a spawner at the end of a dead end hallway with a giant wall of spider webs blocking our path. The spiders took notice and headed our way. They appeared smaller and quicker than normal spiders. "Great. A new breed," I said as I drew my sword.
