Abandoned Mineshaft: Part 3

As soon as my torch hit the side of the spider spawner, it stopped creating more spiders. "Thank you Jesus," Josh exclaimed breathing out and falling down on one of his knees.

Steve yelled to us from the end of the hall, I'm completely out of arrows! I say we call it quits after we clean up here!"

"You don't have to tell me twice. I think I can see a chest behind the spawner, I'll go get it," I said walking towards the chest.

They both got up and started making their way towards me picking up the items dropped by the spiders. "We're good on string and spider eyes for quite a while now," Josh stated as he checked his inventory. I began to chop at the webs surrounding the chest and spawner.

"Can we break this thing? It's scaring me," Steve said as he shivered. I pulled out my pickaxe and broke the spawner. A small fountain of exp. Appeared where the spawner was positioned and flowed into us. "Wow. I don't think just that was worth all the trouble," Steve said as he collapsed onto the ground.

"Yup, there's a chest back here. Let's see what we got," I said as I opened the dungeon chest. "HOLY CRAP....... Dudes you have to see this." They both got up pretty quickly from the sound of the excitement in my voice. Their eyes widened at the sight of what we found. "Five diamonds, three nametags, and three enchantment books! Guys, we just hit the jackpot!" I said with more excitement rising in my voice.

"What should we craft with these?" Steve asked curiously.

Josh started speaking technically, "We should make a diamond pickaxe for certain. That leaves us with two diamonds. We could make a diamond sword, enchanting table, two music boxes, a diamond shovel, and a diamond hoe."

I contemplated on these ideas. Steve automatically answered, "Just give Mike the diamond sword. He can use it better than either one of us could." He stopped to think about something else before continuing, "I would take a diamond hoe, but iron is more my thing."

I was dumbfounded and before I could protest Josh added in, "Congrats Mike. You just got a diamond sword."

I couldn't come up with any words to protest again so I just said, "Thank you." I looked back the way we had come from, "Let's get back to the house."
