Returning a Favor

After a couple weeks later and a lot of training, we received a visitor. When I went to the East gate of the fort, I was met by a familiar face asking for a favor.

"I need a place to stay," Emily said pushing through the door and past me.

"Good to see you too," I said sarcastically following behind her. She immediately went over to the guest houses and entered into an empty one.

"Mike....... Why did you let a witch in here?" Josh asked me, as the group walked up to me.

"He owes me a favor!" Emily yelled through the window.

"Why?" Steve asked raising an eyebrow.

"She's the one who gave me the items to cure Kennadi," I said sighing. "We don't have a choice."

Within a couple of days she had completely transformed her house into a full-fledged laboratory. She commandeered all of our brewing ingredients, but traded them for information. For instance, she told us about a certain Enderdragon, and a certain prophecy. This time with a lot more details.

"They know about you Mike. I barely escaped them and found my way here to warn you. If we don't stop the Enderdragon soon, he will appear in the city of New Napal and he will destroy it," she said in a serious tone.

"How long?" I asked already preparing gear.

"A couple days," she said with a monotone voice. Everyone froze at her words.

"Then we better get ready then," I said heading towards the supply room.

The next two days were a rush. Emily was busy brewing potions, while Josh and Kennadi worked on attack strategies. Steve, Cupa, Mason, Ruby, and Jeff went out to gather supplies for the up-coming battle. Andr and I were fixing Josh's, Steve's and my gear, while also making gear for everyone else. Once that was done, I made some weapons. I made Andr a knife for speed, Kennadi a shield like Josh's, Mason and Ruby swords, and bows for Cupa and Jeff. Everything had the proper enchantments of course.

Right before we left to go to the End portal, Emily pulled me off to the side. "I'm going to give you something that may come in handy," she said handing me two potions and an apple. "These are the potions of life and death. One gives you extremely boosted speed, strength, and regeneration. The other is a deadly mixture of poisons and harming toxins," she explained.

"What about the apple?" I asked holding it up.

"That's a Notch apple. It gives you regeneration on par with a god's. The reason I'm giving them to you, is because you are the only one capable of handling its effects," she said before getting a serious look on her face.

"What's the catch?" I asked quietly.

She took a deep breath before continuing, "There's a very high possibility that you will become a brine."

                "What's a brine?" I asked.

"A brine is someone with god-like powers in this world. The most notorious or infamous would be Herobrine," she said fearfully. "He's a powerful murderer that controls most of the hostile mobs. He's been quiet for years, but recently has shown some activity. He is the one who sent the mobs to attack New Napal. If you become any closer to becoming a brine, he will start hunting you down. Be careful," she said as she pulled away. She immediately came back and whispered something in my ear. My eyes widened as I realized just how important it is that we come back alive.
