Josh's POV

I've got my hands full. I'm in direct control of over fifty builders and craftsmen and at the same time I'm trying to come up with good plans for new defenses and buildings. I need help, but I don't think there are many people out there that know how my thought process works or are even able to help me besides potentially Mike. Even though he doesn't act like it, he is on par with my brainpower, but he seems to like to see me figure out certain problems or issues that he probably has solved already. He wants to see it done in a different way than what he figured out.

A few hours into the work and the fatigue from the night's fight has begun to take its toll on me. Due to my confounded exhaustion, I knocked a paper I needed off my desk and into the floor. Dang it. I was about to reach down to pick up the paper when a hand beat me to it.

"Here you go,"A familiar voice said handing the paper to me on my desk. I looked up to see a short blond headed girl with blue eyes smiling at me holding out my paper.

I took the paper out of her hand and asked, "Is that you Kennadi?"

"Yes. Why do you ask?" She asked in a polite voice.

"Uhh. No reason," I said looking back down at my desk.

"Do you need help with anything?" She asked walking around my desk to stand beside me.

"A little," I mumbled.

"She sat down next to me and started looking through the papers strewn out on my desk. "Oh! These are interesting. I was wondering when someone else was going to think of this idea," she said marveling at one of the papers on my desk.

"Wait you understand that?" I asked a little rudely.

"Of course. I'm a librarian, slash builder, and slash blacksmith," she said smugly.

We finished all the work that was needed to rebuild the city and got it distributed to the builders in just a few hours. I sat back in my chair and took a deep breath. We worked together flawlessly, even better than the times I was with Mike. I was about to turn and thank her for her help when I realized she had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I blushed a little, but I spoke out loud, "Maybe it isn't so bad that we came to this world after all."
