Audrey let the seeds and dried mealworms slip from her fingers, sprinkling food around for the chickens as they followed her around. She giggled, happy to see them thriving. She looked up, seeing you holding the newest member of the cottage farm. A young ewe who would be with the female goats. The rooster crowed at the sight of you, Audrey laughing. "He's saying welcome back!" She called out, heading inside. Jingle, the young hen she adopted, was asleep on the floor as Audrey went to the counter. She had been waiting for the clock to reach twelve to have a slice of pumpkin pie. It was rich, soft, and delicious, smiling with every bite. You had insisted on growing pumpkins, to which she is very glad for agreeing to. She could have pumpkin pie all day every day.
As the days got colder, she helped harvest whatever you both could. Canning pumpkin, raspberry jam, apple jam, homemade pickles, blueberry jam, died tomatoes, and strawberry jam. The other fruits were either dried or frozen. Audrey quietly looked around after you finished cleaning up the mess you both created, getting herself her second slice of the day. "You don't have to sneak a slice, sweetheart. I made it for you." You called out, Audrey perking her head. All for her? She wiggled a bit in happiness, eating her slice with delight.
As Audrey ate, she looked out the window. She saw the chickens running around and playing with each other, reaching over for Jingle. She gently pet her, being weary of where she pet her. "You're so soft." She giggled, finishing her food and heading to the living room to you, she sat in your lap. You had the fireplace stocked and lit, filling the cottage with warmth. "I love you." Audrey whispered, cuddling into you. "I love you too, Audrey." You purred, kissing her. After a bit of time, you broke the silence. "How do you feel about adding on an addition and make this cottage a 2 person home to a three person home?" Audrey grinned at your question.
"It'd be nice to have a Little Tindall running around."
