Ship: Diane Sherman x Reader

----

Diane laid in the bed you two shared. She didn't want to move from her spot, a familiar feeling rippling over her. It kept her in paralyzed in sadness. Doubt.

She glanced up, seeing you come into the room. Do you really love me? She doubted your affection for her as you crawled into bed, facing her and gently stroking her hair. I don't deserve to be loved. Diane fought back her tears, trying desperately to make it appear she was fine.

"I love you." You spoke so tenderly, as though being too loud with the level of your voice would shatter her like glass. You're just saying that. "I love you too." Diane choked out. You held onto her hand, squeezing gently. "I'm taking you out on a date tomorrow." You blurted.

Diane sat up, shocked. "We just went on a date last week." Diane reasoned, giving you an awkward smile. "My boss just gave me a huge raise and tomorrow is pay day. I wanted to take you to your favorite place." You gave her a hug. Diane fought back tears, biting her lip. Why do you love me? Why? "What did I do to deserve all this love?" You pulled back, cupping her face.

"You exist, that's why you deserve this love. Don't ever doubt your worth for affection."
