Chapter 38
-;-Stacey's POV-;-
We walked in and everybody stopped to take us in. I could feel myself blushing. Soon everyone returned to what they were doing before. I scanned the crowd and saw Seth. I gave him a quick wave and he nodded back, still looking at my dress. I looked at Nate hoping my eyes said 'please forgive me' he turned and walked away. I couldn't blame him, I had kind of rejected him.
I turned back to my friends but not before meeting Kelly's glare.
"Everyone was totally checking you out Stace!" Sierra said.
"They just liked the dress." I said.
"And everything else included." Angelina laughed.
"Well i'm going to get a drink." I said walking away.
"Later!" They said.
I needed to talk to Nate. That was really my only reason for being here. There were waiters walking around with drinks and so I quickly took a ginger ale and thanked them. I scanned the area looking for Nate but I couldn't find him.
There was a balcony so I decided to go get some fresh air. I leaned against the railing, my dress blowing in the wind along with my hair. It was really pretty out tonight. The stars were twinkling.
A voice coughed behind me. It was Seth.
"Hey." He said.
"Hey."
It was silent for a couple moments.
"It's nice out here." Seth said.
I nodded. I could feel him staring at me.
I sighed.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Someones mad at me."
"Nate?"
"Yeah."
"Well i'm sure he'll forgive you."
"I doubt it."
"He's in the back by the way. In case you were looking for him."
I turned around and faced him.
"Thanks." I said giving him a quick hug then making my way towards the back.
Soon I saw Nate standing with a drink, by the wall.
He noticed my presence and looked at me blankly.
"We need to talk." I said.
"No we dont." He said.
"Yeah, we do."
He stayed silent.
"Look, i'm really sorry about last night." I said.
He turned around and just looked at me for a minute. Then he sighed.
"No, i'm sorry. I knew you had a boyfriend and I still kissed you. I was just being stupid." He said.
I got up and hugged him to show him all was forgiven. I pulled away and he was pink.
"But I don't think we can be friends." He said.
"What?" I asked.
"I still really like you, and I can't just be your friend. I'll always want to be more."
I sat down on the swings, trying to make sense of the situation. He sat down next to me.
"So you don't want to be friends with me?" I asked.
