Veronica POV

"And yeah...he just gave me the job like that." I told Eddie over the phone, walking around my room and twirling the cord with my index finger.

"You definitely got the job because you're hot." He teased, my jaw dropping.

"Hey! Not true. I happen know three different movies each from a different genre off the top of my head, so..." I jokingly bragged, Eddie's laughter filling the phone.

"It's also Keith. Honestly, if you walked in there and said 'Hey, I have tits, hire me?' you probably would have gotten the job on the spot." Eddie teased, making me roll my eyes.

He was probably right, but I couldn't tell him that. I wasn't backing down on the thought that I got the job fair and square, boobs or not.

"You're just mad that you didn't get that job at the radio station. I mean, they asked for a good song to play during summer. Who immediately thinks of paranoid by Black Sabbath? That is the complete opposite of what they were looking for." I laughed, Eddie sighing dramatically.

"It's not my fault they have bad music taste." He complained, both of us breaking out into laughter.

"No, Eddie. You just don't know how to read a room." I joked, our laughter dying down soon after.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say. But anyways, you think you're gonna like working there?" He asked. I shrugged, even though he obviously couldn't see me.

"I don't know. I mean, I met a couple of my co-workers today. I think their names were Steve and Robin. They were...pretty welcoming." I told him, plopping down onto my bed and staring at the ceiling.

"Welcoming? What do you mean by that?" He asked, humor in his voice.

Hm, I don't know, maybe because of the fact that when I first walked in, Robin immediately brought up the rumor about me fucking Andy behind the school, but you know, no big deal.

"I don't know...but it was kind of funny because Steve actually recognized me as 'the girl who's dating Eddie Munson'." I told him, knowing a huge smirk grew on his face.

"Wait, huh? Really? What'd you say? How'd he know that?" He asked, his smile apparent through his voice.

"Well, at first I was confused. I mean, the guy looks like if Farah Fawcett and Rob Lowe had a baby. He didn't look like he would really hang out with you or anyone else who knows about our...thing- well, besides Chrissy, but she wouldn't tell. But then, when I asked him how he knew, he explained that Dustin told him all this stuff-" I explained before Eddie cut me off.

"Wait. You're working with Steve Harrington? As in Dustin's friend Steve?" He asked, a worried tone in his voice.

"Uh, I guess. What's wrong with that? Y'all don't hang out?" I asked, beginning to get worried. Was admitting Eddie and I's relationship to Steve a bad idea?

"No...nothing's wrong with it. It's just..." He said before getting quiet.

"You're jealous?" I teased, a smirk forming on my face.

Eddie was quick to speak up after that comment.

"I am not jealous, Roni. Steve's just your typical douchey popular guy. I mean, Dustin of course talks him up, saying he is cool and...has nice hair and shit but thats not what this is about." He finished quickly, getting defensive.

Yeah, he was definitely jealous.

"Then what is it about?" I asked, humor in my voice. Eddie sighed before speaking again.

"I just don't want you to turn into someone like Steve Harrington..." He admitted, totally lying.

A minute ago he had described Steve Harrington the same way he would describe my school friends, me 'turning into someone like him' was definitely the least of his worries.
