Dustin POV
"I mean, I really don't get why I was stupid enough to think that once she hung out with us she'd leave her friends...it's selfish of me...and stupid." Eddie complained.
I know all of us mentally groaned as we sat in the dungeon skipping class. It's been about 4 days since the D&D campaign. It's been constant hours upon hours of Eddie whining about Veronica. The whole party was so over it, but most of us wanted to be supportive.
Adam and Gareth on the other hand were at their breaking points.
"Eddie we know. We get it." Gareth grumbled, facepalming.
"Right? Like just go talk to her if you want to get in her pants so bad." Adam added, causing uproar.
"Woah Woah- who said anything about getting in her pants?" Eddie asked, sitting up with an angered expression.
"Oh come on, Eddie. You act like you don't drool at the sight of her ass all day. We know what you imagine late at night." Gareth teased, nudging Adam on the shoulder.
I looked at Eddie, not knowing what to expect. Eddie was a very complex person. When he reacts to something, you can expect an outburst or no interest. There's no in between.
"Gareth, how many girls have spoken to you at this school?" Eddie asked, his face like stone.
Gareth went silent for a moment. "One-" He began, before Eddie cut him off.
"Not counting Veronica, Gareth." Eddie stated, standing up from his seat.
Gareth stayed quiet. "Exactly," Eddie began, walking around the room. "And if you had talked to a girl and you really liked her, would I give you shit when you fuck things up and complain about it?" Eddie asked, putting a hand on Gareth's shoulder.
Gareth shook his head no.
"The same goes to all of you! I mean, I don't give Dustin shit when he complains about how far away Suzie is, do I? Or- Or Mike! His girlfriend moved away after they said their first I love you! And guess what! He talks about it! But I never once complain that i'm bored with it or annoyed." Eddie outburst loudly, causing everyone to sit in silence.
Eddie's eyes suddenly went wide. He smiled and did a little dance as he walked back to his throne.
We all looked at each other confused as he slammed his fist onto the table and looked at us with a growing smirk.
"I got it." He said, sitting back in his seat.
"Got...what?" Adam asked, speaking for all of us.
"Adam, remember what you said about going to talk to her?" Eddie asked, pointing at Adam while raising an eyebrow.
"Talk to her to get in her pants?" Adam asked.
"No! Not that last part!" Eddie said annoyed. Adam stared at Eddie blankly, wondering what exactly he was talking about.
"What if...I put a note in her locker and ask her to meet me somewhere? But like...since she wants to be all secretive, I can put it in code." He suggested, everyone staying quiet.
We all looked at each other with confusion.
"Code?" I asked.
"Yes Dustin. Code." He replied, "I can talk in D&D terms."
Everyone's jaw dropped. Choruses of "That's good." and "That's smart." was heard around the room, causing Eddie to smile.
"Pen." He said, holding out his hand.
