Veronica POV
Eddie, Dustin and I walked into Gareth's garage, the rest of the Hellfire party turning to us when we walked in, only for their jaws to drop and their eyes to widen.

I furrowed my eyebrows.

"Is something wrong?" I asked, sass in my voice. I mean, why the fuck were they staring at me like that?

Choruses of Noes and Nopes were heard around the room as they all tried to act normal, like they weren't just staring into my fucking soul with their jaws to the floor.

"Yeah, ignore them." Eddie said, shaking his head and giving them a look.

Eddie led me over to Gareth's brown, ripped up couch and sat down with me, everyone still watching me with shocked looks on their faces.

Are they annoyed that i'm here? Did they even know I was coming? Well fuck them if they want me to leave. I'm not gonna be somewhere if i'm not welcome.

"Ok is there a problem with me being here because I can leave-" I began to say before I was cut off by the boys.

"No! No! We're just...kinda surprised. We didn't think we'd see you again after the campaign is all." Mike stuttered, shooting me a nervous smile. All of the boys nodded, Eddie looking at them all intensely.

"Never see me again? What? Did you expect me to die after the campaign or something?" I asked sarcastically, it coming out more serious-sounding then I intended.

"What? No! Like with us...that's what we meant. We didn't think you'd wanna hang out with us again." Mike explained, causing me to laugh.

"Guys, relax. It's fine. Just stop staring at me like i'm a fucking nuisance to society." I concluded, sitting back as the boys gave sighs of relief. Eddie and I's shoulders were now touching, but neither of us moved an inch.

"That's all of us, Ron." Eddie said with a smirk. "This isn't the cheer squad- Although, Dustin and Gareth do make pretty good cheerleaders during our campaigns." He teased, sitting up and hitting Gareth's shoulder playfully before sitting back down beside me.

"He isn't wrong." Adam added, munching on a bag of chips.

The boys laughed, Dustin pretending to shake pom poms. I smiled and shook my head, feeling relieved to be in a room of people who didn't care about image.

"So...Veronica, you and Eddie getting close lately?" Gareth asked with a smirk, Dustin hitting his shoulder and giving him a look.

I mentally rolled my eyes. Idiots.

"I guess you could say that...what's it to ya?" I asked, noticing Eddie clenching his jaw beside me.

"They're just being stupid. Pfft. Ya know? Dumb freshman." Eddie replied, the last part of his sentence a bit more intense then the rest of it. He glared at Gareth, causing me to look between both of them with a smirk.

Something was going on here, and I was gonna figure it out. But for right now, I needed to not be sober. These conversations were too weird to listen to without being fucked up.

"You guys have drinks?" I asked, looking around and noticing a beer in Adam's hand.

Gareth sighed.
