The Mess We Made

Chapter 4

Danny's POV

A month had passed since Alfie moved in with me. Things were surprisingly going well. Now with housekeeping, I will be learning about managing the guests too alongside Eun-Kyung. "You're coming in the evening right?" Mun-ho asked me as I docked the cart. I looked at him confused. "Noona's Housewarming party. It's today, don't tell me you forgot." I went wide-eyed remembering it was today.

"Let me talk to my brother to see if he will be ok for a few hours alone. I didn't cook dinner either." Mun-ho nodded and texted Alfie knowing he would be out of class right now. It's time for him to go home now.

To Alfie: Come to the Hotel instead of going home.

From Alfie: Why?

To Alfie: I have some work.

From Alfie: Fine.

I changed my clothes and signed off my shift as I was done. "Mun-Ho told me you're not coming?" Eun-Kyung asked when she entered the Locker room.

"I didn't say I'm not coming I just said I will check with my brother as I can't leave him alone."

"Ohh just bring him. You're coming, you never join us out for drinks or anything." She said shaking me trying to convince me. "Ok ok fine send me the address I have to take care of a thing I will come after that with my brother. What's the dress code?" I asked

"Dress code? Just come in what you're wearing, it's fine" she said shrugging. I nodded. We walked out of the locker room to find Alfie standing there. "Oh you're here." I said with a smile but it soon disappeared when I realized he was hurt. He has a cut on his lip and there was a bruise forming on the corner of his lip. "What the hell happened?" I asked worried as I made him sit down. "I was on my phone not paying attention and someone opened the door on my face." He said and winced a little when I touched the bruise. "Oh god you idiot." I said, sighing and shaking my head. Eun-Kyung had got the first aid box for me. I cleaned the cut and put ointment on it.

Eun-Kyung gave him a glass of juice to drink as I wrapped up the first aid box. "So what work do you have?" he asked when I came back after keeping the first aid box. "We are going to Ms. Eun-Kyung's Housewarming party. I'm afraid we can't get out of it. So we got to go buy something." I said and he nodded. We went to the nearest Mall.

We picked out a bottle of wine, candles and a couple different types of cookies. I told Alfie to go get them wrapped into a basket while I went to the clothing section. I bought a pair of jeans and a shirt for Alfie. When Alfie came back with the basket I told him to go get changed. "I got my first salary so I thought I should buy you something" I said and he looked at me confused. "Are you getting paid?" ah I see his confusion. "Yeah legally they can't make me work without paying me at least the minimum. So I'm getting the minimum wage."

"Oh nice and thank you for these" he said as he went to the washroom to change out of his school uniform and into the clothes I bought him. He stuffed his uniform in his bag.

"It's Sunday tomorrow. What are you planning to do?" I asked Alfie.

"Oh, I'll probably relax and finish all my school work."

When we got to Eun-Kyung's place the only person I knew was Mun-ho. There were other people from work but I didn't really remember their name. They offered Alfie a drink but he turned it down even while he thought I was not around. So I suppose that is a good thing. I spoke to everyone and had a good time. They made me chug a glass of Soju. As the night passed and the party ended at Eun-Kyung's place everyone was heading somewhere else to drink me.

"Nah nah I got to go to work in the morning" I said bidding my farewell. "Mun-Ho tried to convince me so I told him "Idiot you have work tomorrow too. Don't stay out too late or come to work hungover. Kang will kill you"
