The Mess We Made

Chapter 18

Danny's POV

Few days have passed since I woke up. Doctor said I could now start walking around a little more and if this continues I could go back home in a few days.

I was eating the porridge mom had gotten for me. To be honest I wanted to eat something a bit more spicy or at least more flavorful but mom was only giving me porridge and soup, basically things that were easy to digest. Because that is what the doctor recommended.

"When are you guys going back?" I asked her as I ate the last spoonful.

"Tomorrow but before that we have a few things to fix." Mom (Franc) said and I just nodded. Mama (Amber) had to leave early because grand dad had suddenly turned ill so she had to go take care of him.

"Ok" here you go. I said and gave her the bowl. She placed the bowl aside and moved the bed table that I was using.

"Take your meds and sleep," she said and handed me my tablets. "Don't jump around too much with the kids, Ok?" To which I just nodded.

She left the room as I flatten my bed. The tablets are kicked in making me drowsy.

I don't know how much time had passed but I opened my eyes to see Eun-kyung sitting in front of me with her hand running through my hair. She looked tired and had bags under her eyes.

I moved my head away from her and shifted making space. "Get on." I said patting the bed.

"It's a small bed." She said protesting.

"You're tiny. It's big enough for both of us. Just get on. I want to cuddle with someone." I said making my puppy face which always works. She sighed but did get on the bed as she took off her coat and moved under the sheets. I tried not to touch her too much cause sure we were close but one wrong move and things could seem inappropriate.

She put her hand under my head as she laid sideways. She continued running her fingers through my hair. This was comfortable but the way Ryujin massaged the back of my head was more relaxing.

Maybe I'll tell her to do it later.

"How's work?" I asked her as I yawned covering my mouth.

"Ms. Kang is on our asses as usual. Though I think she misses you." She said smiling. I loved it when she smiled. She got this cute barely there dimple on one side of her face. I always want to poke it.

"Well I never thought I would say this but I miss her too. I might just hug her when I see her." I chuckled.

"What did the cops say? They caught the person yet?" She asked and I shook my head.

"They have narrowed down a suspect but have not yet caught him. Also it seems that the dude disappeared in thin air." Their were a few other things the cops had told me but I prefer not telling them to anyone because I feel if some people found out they might use it as a reason... a reason to stay away. I quickly tried to change the topic by saying "you know we never had that conversation."

"What conversation?" She said looking at me confused.

"Well the one before the incident." I said. It took her a minute but she quickly remembered what I was talking about.

"Well, do you want to give it a shot?" She asked very casually. Making me smile. Things were so simple with her.

"It's complicated." I said remembering my situation with Ryujin now.

"How are things with her?" She asked with a sigh. "We are friends now. Eun-Kyung, I want to be honest with you. I like you. A lot to be honest. Every time I look at you all I can think of is gosh I need her to be mine cause life would be so simple..." I sighed and she just gave me a smile "I sense a but coming"
