It's all my fault people are mourning and worried. I was stupid. Weak.
———————————————————————Wills eyes slowly opened. Fuck, he could barely see. Everything was blurry...to the point where he couldn't even see shapes. Everything felt uncomfortable...but not painful.

His throat felt scratchy. He had been intubated after his heart flatlined. Now, it was just an oxygen mask placed over his face. His body was covered by a thin hospital gown, burn marks under the gown over his chest. That was where they had to use electric paddles.

As you can see, they brought him back.

Both arms were covered in casts, bottom of his hand to his shoulders. An IV was sited at the top of both hands. His neck was supported by a hard neck brace, legs in casts too.

He slowly glanced at the silhouettes in the room, confused and out of it. When did he get the casts?...

"Hi Baby..." Joyce says, walking over. She gently ran his fingers through Wills hair. He squinted his eyes to try and see her better, but to no avail. The closer she got, the more he could see her.

He opened his mouth and tried to talk, but instantly stopped trying when pain erupted his body.

"Hey bud. Don't try and talk. You're in the hospital....you had a bit of an accent about...2 weeks ago. Went through a few surgeries. You're so strong, buddy..." Jonathan said, now coming into view. Everybody was speaking so soft....like he was gonna break at any second.

To be fair, he did break in a matter of seconds when it happened.

"I'm going to go alert the nurse that he's awake. Come on honey." Joyce says to Jonathan, kissing Wills head and whispering. "I'll be back soon."

The mother and son let the room, Will slowly glancing around.

"You ever do that to me again, Byers and I swear." Steve says, obviously stressed out. He walked up to Will, Eddie right next to Steve.

"How ya feelin Will the Wise?" Eddie asks, eyes full of concern. Will just tried shaking his head no, not really able to move. "That sucks, but Mikey boy here. I bet that will cheer ya up." Eddie says and winks at Will, walking to sit down with Steve.

Mike slowly falls into view for Will, Mike sitting on the edge of his bed. "Oh god Will I missed you." Mike whispers. "Everything's going to be okay. You won't get hurt anymore. I'm so sorry I've been so mean lately...and we never got to finish our conversation. But look, about what you said. You know I support you. You said something about...how you support like...the whole gay thing? I dunno how to word it or if there is a word for it. But...you said you supported it because of personal experience, then nodded when I asked if you were gay..." Mike says, noticing that he was rambling. He let out a sigh, taking a breath. "I'm sorry, I'm talking a lot. I just was so worried..." Mike whispers, and glanced at Will.

Wills eyes were filled with tears, a tear dripping down his face. He was shaking slightly from being so nervous and scared and upset, hands shaking too.

"Hey...it's okay..." Mike says, wiping a tear from Wills face. "You're okay now...you're healing great, and we are here to protect you...and you don't need to hide being gay, Will....I'm here for you." He says, now cupping Wills face.

Will leans into the touch, cheeks turning a light shade of pink.

Mike then glanced away. "You should rest..." he said, pulling his hand away gently. He went to stand.

"Mike." Will rasped and forced out, barely anything coming out.

Mike looks over slowly, walking to be right next to him now.

"Stay." Will tried to say, looking up at him.

Mike slowly sat back on the bed, brushing Wills fingers with his own fingertips.
