"WHAT?" asked Cassius Regulus Black with a frown. "After years of rejecting, you're saying yes?!"His father, Regulus Black, nodded. "We're spending the summer at Grimmauld Place. With Sirius and Harry."
"Why? Why now?"
"Because.." Regulus sat down with a sigh. "I miss my brother. And it's time you meet him."
"I've met his godson," Cassius wrinkled his nose in disgust. "If he's as arrogant as he is, there is no way in hell I want to meet him."
Harry Potter, Sirius Black's godson. There wasn't a person in the wizarding world that didn't know the 14-year-old's name.
After 4 years of attending Hogwarts, Harry and Cassius had certainly met. They had met during first year on the train. Harry had offered Cassius his friendship, getting the compartment door closed on his face in return. The reason for that was because of Harry's other friend— Ron Weasley— who went around and called every Slytherin "death eaters."
Cassius made other friends, though; Blaise Zabini, Theodore Nott, and Draco Malfoy— which was his cousin.
Harry was named the hero of the wizarding world, when in reality it was Regulus who did all the hard work. It was Regulus, who deserved the glory and everything else. But Regulus never cared for that.
Cassius let out a scoff. "I'm not coming."
His father glared at him. "I am your father and I make the decision. You are coming, Cassius. Pack your bags. We leave tomorrow morning."

The next morning, Cassius took a shower and didn't bother trying to fix his black and curly hair.
He closed his trunk, which was filled with his things and stood up, grabbing his wand. Then, he walked out of his room and went downstairs, noticing his father waiting for him by the fireplace.
"Ready?" asked Regulus, grabbing a handful of floo powder.
"No," muttered his son, getting ignored as he watched his father disappear in the fireplace.
Like his father, he grabbed a handful of floo powder and went into the fireplace with his trunk and wand in hand, shouting, "Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place."

As soon as he stepped out of the fireplace, Cassius cleaned off the dust from his black shirt, eyes snapping up when a cheery voice said, "And this must be my nephew!"
He watched as Sirius Black made his way over to him. He looked exactly like Regulus but with straight hair instead of curly.
Cassius tensed immediately when Sirius pulled him in a hug. His eyes widened, looking at his father for help.
Regulus, meanwhile, let out a chuckle at his son's discomfort.
Sirius pulled away, his hands on his nephew's shoulders. "I'm so glad to finally meet you. I've heard a lot about you. Oh, and that's Harry—" he pointed to the boy with messy hair and glasses in the corner, who had his arms folded and didn't seem to like the arrangement either. "—my godson."
"We've met." was Harry's clipped answer, eyes on Cassius, who also had his eyes on him.
"Great!" Sirius clapped his hands once. "Show Cassius his room, Harry. Regulus and I have a lot of catching up to do."

Harry pointed to the door at the end of the corridor. "That's your room."
Cassius nodded once, not replying and walked to the room immediately.
"Don't you want to see the rest of the house?" Harry questioned in confusion, getting the door shut in return as an answer, just like four years ago.
Harry shook his head and let out a sigh. He went back downstairs and into the kitchen, where Regulus and Sirius seemed deep in conversation.
"Join us, Harry." Regulus smiled, pointing to a chair.
"About your son," Sirius started as Harry was sitting down, "why is he so quiet? It doesn't seem like he likes me very much."
"Nor me," mumbled Harry.
Regulus shook his head, his hands tightening on the glass of coffee he had in his hands. "Even I don't know what's going on with him, Sirius. I never do."
"Who's his mother?" Sirius asked curiously, drinking from the cup he had in his hands.
"A muggle woman," answered the other Black, lips quirking when Sirius choked on the drink.
When Sirius recovered, all he said was, "So the rumors are true."
Regulus nodded. "She was a shit mother, though. A shit wife, too. Abusive as hell. Cassius' scars on his back proves it."
Harry's eyes widened, not knowing this. Nobody knew this at all, actually. Nobody except Regulus and Cassius himself.
Nobody knew who Regulus Black's wife was. Nobody knew if she was a pureblood, halfblood, muggleborn, or a muggle.
They didn't have any information on Regulus and his son, and the two liked and kept it that way.
"Poor kid," whispered Sirius in sympathy, also with widened eyes. "Why didn't you leave her as soon as you found out?"
"I did exactly that. I was nine years too late, though. Cassius had been going through it for that long until I got a divorce. He never bothered telling me and i never noticed. I blame myself everyday for that." Regulus sighed, then continued. "The abuse fucked Cassius up. And so did the divorce afterwards. His mother didn't even fight for custody. She didn't want him. I did, though, of course. He was never the same afterwards."
"Giving our life story to strangers?" asked Cassius as he walked into the kitchen with his hands in his pockets and a cigarette dangling between his lips.
"Get that out of your mouth." Regulus sternly said. "And they are not strangers, Cassius. Come sit with us and try to get to know them."
Not wanting an argument, Cassius did as his father asked and sat down. However, the cigarette was still dangling between his lips.
"Do you play quidditch?" Sirius suddenly asked his nephew.
All he got was a nod in return, but the man's eyes still lightened up in excitement.
Regulus tried to hide his shock, not knowing this. Cassius never bothered telling his father anything about himself.
"What position?"
"Seeker."
"Like your father," grinned Sirius. "Harry plays seeker, too. I'm finally going to watch one of his games this year. I'll see you play, then."
"Oh joy," muttered the boy sarcastically.
Harry, who was quiet the whole time, rolled his eyes.
