"SO, whose fault was it in the end?" Draco asked, looking at the two boys sitting in front of them, while Cassius was listening half heartedly— his eyes on someone instead.

It was a Hogsmeade weekend, so Theo, Draco, Blaise and Cassius decided to go to the Three Broomsticks for some butterbeer.

Theo shrugged. "Blaise's, obviously."

Blaise glared at the boy next to him. "Yours, Theo! It was your fault!"

They were arguing about breaking a vase in the common room, which gave them a week of detention from Snape.

Cassius took a sip from his glass of butterbeer, looking away when the person he was staring at turned around, obviously feeling someone's eyes on him.

"Why do you keep looking at Potter?" Draco whispered to his cousin suspiciously.

"It's none of your business, Draco."

"You're acting strange, Cassius."

Cassius rolled his eyes. "I've got a letter to write." He stood up. "I'll see you guys in the common room."

Cassius lied.

He didn't have a letter to write.

He just needed to get out of there. He needed to be away from Harry.

He didn't like the way his heart would beat faster whenever he saw the boy now.

Or the fact that the boy wouldn't leave his mind.

Cassius shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. He frowned in confusion when he heard a dog barking.

The said dog stopped in front of him and wagged his tail, looking excited.

"Sirius!" A voice behind the young boy said

Cassius' frown merely deepened as the boy walked over to the dog. "This is a dog, Harry."

"Exactly," replied Harry, looking at the dog. "Change back now."

The dog turned into a human. Cassius had to hide his shock. "Animagus," explained Sirius to his nephew while giving his godson a hug.

"Where's my father?" asked Cassius, looking away as they hugged, feeling a pang in his chest.

"He couldn't come. He's busy. But—" Sirius pulled away from Harry and grabbed Cassius in a hug, not minding the fact that the boy tensed immediately and was not hugging back "—I'm here to spend the day with my godson and my favorite nephew! Surprise!"

"I'm your only nephew." Cassius pointed out, trying to pull away, but got hugged tighter in return.

A few seconds later when Sirius finally pulled away, he said, "Where do you boys want to go first?"

"Back to the common room," mumbled his nephew, but wasn't heard.

That night after spending the whole day with Sirius and Harry, Cassius laid in bed in his dorm and closed the curtains for privacy.

He stood up and took his shirt off, looking at the bruise on his hip. It was starting to fade, though, so that was good.

His scars, however, were still there. It always was. Its mere existence was mocking Cassius for what he went through.

The boy sighed and laid back down, rubbing his face. If only he had a mother that wasn't abusive. A mother that loved him.

If only..
