CASSIUS sighed after reading another letter from Draco. The said letter was filled with Draco complaining about Cassius ditching the party, just like it had been for the last few weeks. It was now mid-August.

Harry walked into Cassius' room and plopped himself on the bed, ignoring the glare sent his way from the boy. "I'm bored."

"So you decide to annoy me." Cassius nodded once, putting the letter in his hands away.

"Precisely." Harry sat up and sighed. "I want to go to Diagon Alley. Do you want to come with me?"

"Go with your other friends," said Cassius, grabbing a book from the bookshelf in his room and opening it, sitting down on his bed.

Harry groaned. "They're boring!"

"What would people say if they saw me with the savior of the wizarding world?" Cassius joked, closing the book. "I can see the headlines on the daily prophet; son of ex-death eater strolls through Diagon Alley with the savior of the wizarding world!"

Harry glared at him. "Nobody really cares, Black."

Cassius shook his head. "I'm not coming."

"You should go." Sirius appeared in the doorway. "The newest brooms are out. You both should buy it. And buy new quidditch gear while you're at it. Here's my Gringotts credit card."

Harry caught the card thrown in his way, then grinned. "How about now, Black?"

"I've got my own card."

"Use mine." Sirius shrugged. "I want you to."

When he went away, Harry looked at Cassius. "So?"

"Fine. Let's go."

"The Nimbus 2001," read Harry as they both stared at the broomstick in the store in Diagon Alley.

"You had that."

"Yeah, until you made me fall and I broke it last year."

Cassius chuckled, then he forced himself to stop. "Good riddance."

Harry feigned a huff, then looked around the store. "So, we're getting two of that broomstick and what else?"

"Merlin, Potter." Cassius said with a shake of his head. "You love shopping, don't you?"

Harry gave him a look. "How can I not?" He replied, then started looking around the store, not noticing the other boy's eyes on him the entire time.

"Do we have to?" Harry whined a few hours later as he was following Cassius into the bookstore.

"You made me come, so you better stop whining and let me buy some books." Cassius immediately said, checking the many books in the store.

"What book do you want? I can help you search so we get out of here faster."

"That's exactly why I won't tell you."

Harry sighed, deciding to stop complaining and followed Cassius through the aisles. "What House do you think will win in quidditch this year?"

"Why do you hate silence so much?"

"It's maybe the second time we've talked without you being so quiet. I'm trying to keep that going."

Cassius pulled out a book from a shelf and then kept searching, not looking at him. "Don't."

"Am I being annoying?"

"Yes."

"Good," said Harry with a nod, then crossed his arms. "Why did you hate me so much?"

"Who said I don't now?"

Harry's face fell.

Cassius, noticing this, frowned. "Why do you care so much?"

"I don't know," replied the boy as they walked to the cashier— Cassius having multiple books in his hands.

After a few minutes of tense silence, Cassius sighed when they walked out of the bookstore. "I don't hate you, Potter."

Harry looked skeptical. "You don't?"

"No."

"Well.. can you call me Harry now?"

Cassius glanced at the boy, then slowly nodded. "Sure, Harry. Call me Cassius."
