"They want to complete the Harvest," Keira said to Davina after speaking with her brothers.
"What?" Davina said, panicked. "No!"
"The witches say you'll be resurrected," Keira said calmly.
"They're liars! They'll say anything to get what they want. Just like Marcel. Just like you!"
"Davina, you may think that I don't care about you, but you're wrong. I know what it's like to have your life stripped away from you because of other people's bad decisions. How do you think I became a vampire?" Keira asked, pulling out a syringe.
"What--what is that?" Davina asked nervously.
"The more upset you become, the faster you deteriorate. I compelled up some sedative."
"No!" Davina said. The wind outside began to pick up, and the window blasted open. Keira sped to close it, having to use her vampire strength to do so.
"Davina, I get you don't want to die, and you might think these witches are liars, but I've seen the Harvest before. You will be resurrected. But we can't do so if you blow up this house. It's either you die and we resurrect you, or we all have fun in the afterlife," Keira said. Davina thought for a moment, before nodding. Keira injected her with the sedative and she fell unconscious a few moments later, the wind dying down.
At Rousseau's, Keira found Sophie Deveraux trying to clean up the mess from the earthquake.
"Fat lot of good that will do," she said.
"I don't really have time to socialize," Sophie replied.
"Good. Neither do I. When you're done burying your witchy bits on sacred ground, are you prepared to perform the Harvest? You do realize you have to slit a girl's throat, a very sweet girl, as it turns out."
"If it means I get my niece Monique back, I can handle anything. You, on the other hand-"
"Yeah, and my niece is inside the werewolf you bribed into find the remains, which basically ruined her relationship with Elijah, by the way. You think I want this city to burn? My entire living family is here. I helped build this city."
"Why are you really here?"
"When all this is done, after Davina is resurrected and the witches get their power back, you'll have a decision to make," Keira said, picking up a shard of broken glass and examining it.
"Enlighten me," Sophie replied without looking up.
"A witch at her full power can trade body blows with a vampire punch for punch. Believe me, I know.""So do I. Be nice to have a fair fight for a change."
"Well, fair only gets you so far, love. Clever gets you further. After this, Marcel will still be here, and so will Klaus, and you know better than anyone that those two don't fight fair. You are going to need some Originals on your side, and my sister and I are gonna need a witch on mine if we're gonna stop those two from running things," Keira replied.
"Am I missing something? Why would you side with me?" Sophie asked.
"Sometimes, what's more important is not who you're siding with, but who you're siding against. I'm done being pushed around by my brother," Keira said. Then her phone dinged. "Want to do a locator spell? Bloody Marcel took Davina."
Later, when Sophie had unsuccessfully consecrated Celeste due to her magic for some reason not being there, Elijah told Keira he had offered them to consecrate another witch- Esther Mikaelson.
"It's taken one thousand years, but you've finally gone mad. Our own mother?" Keira asked.
"Yes, our beloved mother, who Niklaus has affectionately placed in a coffin in his basement-- not daggered, but quite dead," Elijah replied. Klaus crossed his arms.
"Well, she did try to kill us all," he said.
"Well, I say we put her to use and put her to rest once and for all. Now if we bury our mother on land owned by one of her descendants, she becomes a New Orleans witch, and we, as her family, share in that ancestral magic," Elijah said.
"We're vampires, Elijah. We can't practice magic. Or own property, for that matter," Keira said. "Thanks to the very witch your asking we use to practice magic we can't use after burying her on property we don't own, if that's ironic at all."
"And, with regarding to both of those, we do have family that can practice magic that is not a vampire."
"The baby," Klaus said.
"The baby. The parish Tax Assessor's office is just steps outside of the Quarter. Hayley now holds the title to the plantation. So, if we bury our mother there, and we consecrate those grounds, we can finish the Harvest ritual. The only requirement is we participate in it."
"You're a bit of a mad genius, Elijah. Count me in," Klaus said proudly.
"Am I the only one thinking? Our mother was the most powerful witch in history. If we bury her, we hand that power to our enemies to use against us," Keira said.
"Given our circumstances, I hardly see that we have a choice, sister," Elijah replied.
"I don't know why I bother. You two will just do what you want anyway," Keira said.
"Rebekah's already agreed."
"Rebekah was never a witch. I was. This is not a good idea."
"We don't have any others," Elijah replied. "Our decision must be unanimous."
"This is not a democracy," Klaus said.
"You're quite right. This is family," Elijah said. Outside, it started pouring rain at an abnormal rate. "The next signs began."
Keira sighed. "Kill a demon today, face the devil tomorrow. Count me in."
Klaus smirked. "Well, this is no family reunion without our mother. I'll fetch her."
"I'm off," Keira said.
"Where to?" Elijah asked.
Keira paused for a moment, before glaring at him. "None ya business."
In the Garden, Keira talked to a very hungry Thierry. She pulled out a small cup of blood, which he snatched immediately.
"You know, I'm going to have to desiccate you before I go. No one can know about this," she said.
"I know," Thierry replied. "So much for your grand schemes of using Davina for revenge."
"Survival first, plots to overthrow my brother second. Where would Marcel hide something precious to him?" Keira asked.
"You think I'm just gonna offer that up so you can leave me here to rot? Water runs downhill. You think I have to have drowned before to know how much that will suck?"
"Fire kills vampires, Thierry. You think burning to ash will be pleasant? Look, I am not forsaking you. I promise to live up to my end of the deal. I'll get you out of here when all of this is done. Just tell me where Marcel would go."
Thierry sighed in defeat. "There's a place by the docks."
