Genevieve pressed a damp bundle of chamomile against Hayley's forehead and chanted in half French half Creole. Frustrated and worried, Klaus bit his wrist for the fourth time and dribbled blood into Hayley's mouth, unsuccessfully healing her. Klaus looked at Elijah in fear.

"She's still not breathing," Elijah said angrily. "IT'S NOT, WORKING!!!" he yelled, picking up a chair and throwing it at the wall so hard one of the legs almost hit Keira in the head. She caught it and threw it back at him, piercing him in the stomach. He pulled it out and began pacing the room.

"Coeur blessé, battre avec mwen," she chanted. Elijah stepped forwards.

"I'm taking her to a real doctor."

"If you move her from here, my spell will break. There won't be enough time to get her to a hospital!" Genevieve said. Klaus frantically stepped forwards.

"Will the baby survive if delivered now? I'll rip it out of her myself!"

Keira blocked him. "Nik, Hayley will bleed to death!"

"I won't lose that baby."

Elijah stood next to the witch. "I won't lose either of them."

"...battre avec mwen. Coeur blessé, battre avec mwen," Genevieve suddenly paused, before breaking out of a trance. "I know what to do. Get my bag, the gris-gris pouch! Now!"

Genevieve spread salt in a circle around Hayley while crushing herbs and sprinkling them over her. A few seconds later, the wolf gasped and sat up, Klaus's blood still on her mouth and neck. Elijah sighed in relief while Klaus rubbed her shoulders.

"You're alright, love. You're alright," Klaus said in relief. Hayley breathed heavily.

"I saw him. He tried to kill me. I saw Mikael," she said. The three siblings exchanged looks.

Klaus, Keira, and Genevieve all stood in Klaus's study as the witch examined their mother's grimoire and the spell Klaus wanted her to do for the werewolves.

"Your mother's spell is as complicated as it is elegant. She was clearly a very gifted witch," Genevieve said, reading the spell.

"I know. I was always quite proud when I could accomplish them," Keira replied, smiling at the section of spells Esther had performed and taught to her youngest daughter.

Klaus snatched the book and turned the pages, setting it down and showing her a different spell. "Is this the bit, here?"

"Nik, that's the daylight ring spell," Keira said, snatching the book back and handing it to Genevieve again.

Genevieve turned the pages. "Like I said, it's complicated. She bound protection magic to black kyanite stones. A werewolf with the stones is free from turning on a full moon."

"And what of the improvements?" Klaus asked.

"This spell will enhance speed, strength, and agility."

"There should be something in there about fangs, it's what our mother used on us when she turned us into vampires."

Keira smiled. "Actually it's not, that spell was an upgraded version of the spell Ayana's ancestor Qestsiyah used on Silas and Amara, according to that very reluctant Bennett witch. Why don't you leave the magic to the people who actually know things about magic, Nik?"

"You said you want venom, so the bite is still lethal to vampires," Genevieve said. Then she eyed the two. "Well, most vampires. It should make a nice gift. I'm sure Hayley will be thrilled."
