Chapter 12 - The Raid

[The fact that we just now got a chapter title that makes sense is sin worthy.] 562

Markus prepared to rush forward, once the flare was launched, the raid would begin. Or as he was now calling it, the war. The war that could end everybody attacking, or start a new era on the Eastern Coast. ["The war" implies multiple days of fighting and strategic planning, not raiding a base.] 563

Markus shot up the flare, then rushed forward at the guards outside. The guards began to draw their weapons, but Markus was quicker. [The quickest hand in the East.] 563

Markus pulled the trigger on his AK-47 and opened fire upon the guards, killing them both. They rushed up to the gate, and opened it. They rushed inside to be met with heavy gunfire. [They were all shredded by bullets and died. The end.] 564

"What do we do from here?" Dawn asked. [When your character enters an unscripted cutscene while being attacked.] 565

Markus pulled out a grenade, pulled the pin, and threw it. "Take cover!" Markus yelled. Within a few seconds, a loud boom came from the other side of the barrier. [Now they take cover. Also, magical grenade.] 567

They began returning fire back at the defenders. They rushed, suppressing anybody who wanted to fire upon them. [It's been a solid few seconds of fighting, and now they begin fighting back.] 568

Markus opened the main door, threw a grenade inside and waited for it to explode before charging in. They met no resistance, and they decided to split up. Dawn taking most of her group, while Markus took his group and some of Dawn's group. [For plot convenience, the main character will be given a grenade whenever it is necessary.] 569

Ira hopefully should be doing good. The hallways where dark and quiet, only the occasional sound of shots being fired. They had to have alerted somebody by now, no way they couldn't have. [No possibility for anyone to have been alerted. Not with the explosions, yelling, and gunfire.] 570

Markus moved swiftly through the building to meet up with Ira. Just then, Ira turned the corner at the end of the hall. Ira noticed who it was, "Continuing moving. We're going to secure the entire building no matter what the cost."

Ira nodded and followed behind Markus, Dawn secured the right while Ira secured the left. They moved forward toward the center. They met up with Cassie before entering into the doors to head into the main area.

Markus opened the door a crack. It was a facility bustling with activity. Xara stood up upon a tall ledge overlooking the entire facility. A wide opening in the roof let sunlight shine through. Cover was nearby, and with suppressive fire, they could make it all the way to the areas and possibly win. [How is no one concerned about the gunfire and explosions? They all have to be deaf.] 571

"Okay, I need somebody to provide suppressive fire while running over to take cover. We're going to duck behind those sandbags and other items," Markus pointed at a barrier and continued, "Once we do that, we'll open fire and kill whoever we can." [Oh, wow, he's actually planning to take cover. And why didn't they just, y'know, kill Xara who was standing on a ledge in the open?] 572

They all nodded, "Ready? 3, 2, 1..."

Markus rushed out, a few group members began opening fire. One by one, they all made it to the covered area. Right now, most of everybody was taking cover. A few where opening fire on them, others had switched sides and where now firing upon Xara and the rest of her group members. [The battle of where and were continues.] 573

Soon, others began realizing what was happening and began picking their sides. Gunshots firing from all corners of the room. The ones of their side began making their war to them, while enemies did the same. Causing some to intersect and end up being killed. [I am unable to comprehend this paragraph and therein am unable to make a proper comment on it.] 574
