Cancun, Mexico
The city of Cancun was like no other. The life was always blazing with the chatter of the locals and the tourists. And the night life was different compared to the silent town of Forks, Washington.
Mia walked through the market, determined to find a new bag before her hike that afternoon. Her long hair had been put up into a bun, as her skin glistened under the sun. She wore a yellow bikini top, and a pair of dark blue dad shorts. She spotted a brown woven beach bag hanging off a small hook in front of a shop.
Smiling to herself she pushed her way through the crowd right as the owner made her way outside to greet Mia. "Cuanto cuestan por la cartea?" She asked as she pointed to the bag.
"Vienticinco." Nodding Mia pulled out the pesos in her back pocket before handing her the money.
"Gracias, señora." Mia was grateful that her high school Spanish came in handy during the time she had spent here.
It had been two months since she fled Forks. Her dad thinks she's in Jacksonville with her mom, while she thinks Mia decided to stay in Froks during the summer. But that wasn't the case.
"Yo Mia!" Hearing the familiar voice Mia spun around to see Keyni, a friend she has made during her stay. "Keyni, I thought you were gonna pick me up at the house later?" The young boy had dark black hair, and tanned skin. He reminded Mia a lot about Seth, but she did her best to forget about her life back in Forks.
"Your Nana said you would be here and I thought I would save you the trip." He smiled, his pearly whites flashing Mia in the eyes.
