  Mia stumbled out of the room, pushing the door that led to the backyard open as she tried to breathe in the air, hoping it would calm her racing heart.

Only it didn't.

Looking down at her clothes-stained in her sister's blood she took the edge of her sweater and began to try and rub the blood away then she noticed her hands. Soaked in the red substance she lifted them as they began to shake and tears were streaming down her face. Hyperventilating she rushed down to the river, the same place Jacob had taken her when they were reunited the night of Bella's wedding.

Which seemed like forever ago.

When she reached the river she collapsed to her knees and then plunged he hands into the cold water and began to scrub them vigorously to remove any sign of her sister's death from her body.

Bella was dead.

And Mia couldn't prevent it. Not like the times before.

Her sister was dead.

Bella was panicking, her tears streaming down her face as her contraction spread down her legs. Edward had carried her to Carlise's office, where his father had prepared for Bella's labor. The others were close behind him, Alice on the phone explaining to their father what had occurred. Rosalie gets everything set up to bring the baby into the world, and Jacob helps Edward set Bella onto the exam table.

And Mia...

She was by her sister's side the whole time.

"Mia," Bella reached out, her hand in the air to which Mia took it and stood close beside her. Bella-with whatever strength she had left pulled Mia in to where her lips were near her ear. As if the people in that room would not be able to hear what she had to say.

"I'm scared. I'm so scared Mia." She sobbed as she held onto her belly. Mia's eyes softened. Her eyes averted to Bella's hands just as Bella screamed out in pain from another contraction.

There had to be something Mia could do. But with the baby still inside Bella's womb. She could not help her. Not until the very last second.

"I didn't want to die." She whispered, and Mia could see Edwards's gaze move to the two sisters. "You're not going to," Mia assured.

"I won't let that happen."

She heard the sound of Carlisle's medical supplies moving, glancing at the others she watched as Rosalie took a scalpel to Bella's stomach. Only she was stopped by Edward.

"Stop, wait for the morphine to spread." Mia glanced at the needle that lay on the silver tray. Not realizing that while Mia was talking to Bella-Edward had injected the substance into Bella's leg.

At that moment Bella let out an ear pair wing scream, "There's something wrong!" She cried out as her hands held on tightly to her belly. "What do you mean?" Mia asked as she too placed a hand on Bella's swollen stomach for the first time since they'd been here.

Mia didn't know how maybe it had to do with her magic being connected to all things life, but she felt the baby. She can feel it struggling to get out, its heartbeat slowing down.

"The baby is dying." She whispered to which Rosalie and Edwards's gaze flung to her. But Bella heard her sister-to which she screamed out, "Get him out!" She begged she wouldn't allow her baby to die before coming into this world.
