Lunch had finally rolled around after a dreadfully long four hour wait. I walked the halls and made my way over to my locker, where Cassie, (my other friend) and Sabrina were waiting for me, leaned against my locker.
Sabrina had spotted me through the crowd of passing students. I strutted over to them and smiled,
"Hey Cass, Hey Sab!"
"What happened to your sour mood?" Sab laughed, throwing her arm over my shoulder.
"Wait so it's not permanent?" Cassie joined, slinging her arms over both mine and Sabrina's shoulders.
"Hah, funny." I rolled my eyes sarcastically.
"There she is!" giggled Cassie.
"Ah, the Nat we all know and love!" Sabrina practically putting me in a headlock now, she was obviously doing it to annoy me and it was working. But I didn't mind, this is how us three worked as a group. We were hardly ever nice to eachother, it was always insults, teasing and play-fighting. I wouldn't have it any other way, and neither would Sab or Cass.
"Alright! Alright! That's enough, get off me." I spat, biting my tongue. They quickly removed their arms from my shoulder and moved back abit. Of course, this was all an act. I didn't shout at them in a horrible tone, more in a humorous one.
"I think I might spend this period in the toilets. You comin'?" Cassie spoke.
"Duh." Sabrina & I replied in sync, giggling. As we entered the dull room, the smell of cigarette smoke and vodka had hit like a ton of bricks. Most girls used this place to smoke and drink, including Sabrina, Cassie and I. The principal had since given up on warning everyone about this, suspensions too. Infact he had given up on the whole school all-together. Sabrina had spotted Greta Keene in the corner nearest the sink, alone. Cassie and I shot eachother a confused look, wondering why & how Greta could have possibly be without her friends - or what we prefer to call, minions. However, knowing Greta, she had more than likely sent them off looking for someone to torment. Sabrina went up to the curly haired blonde.
"Hi, Greta." She said, positioning herself against the wall. The blonde turned her attention to Sab, who was staring down at the floor smirking.
"What do you want, Donavan?" She huffed, taking a drag of her burning cigarette. Sab propped her head up to face the girl,
"I don't want anything, I was only wondering where your friends are? They're normally in here with you."
"They've gone to find someone for me." She responded.
"Who's that someone?" Sabrina asked, eager to know who her next victim was. That's the odd thing about Sab. She was always so interested in who people were after and what they were planning to do or what they did. She enjoys hearing it for some reason. Me and Cassie decided it was a form of entertainment to her, she was always into violence so it would've been understandable to say the least.
"What's it to you?" Greta creased her eyebrows as she placed the cigarette against the wall, creating a small, black burn mark on the grey paint.
"I dunno, just wanna know. Come on Greta you always tell me!" She stomped her feet on the tiled floor and pouted playfully.
"That slut Beverly. We've been looking for her everywhere, we can't find her. But God, when I get my hands on her I'll fucking kill her." Greta said with a smirk creeping onto her face.
"She's in the principal's office, we saw her in the window on the way here."
Cas and I were pissed. We both got on so well with Beverley, I kinda had to since she was friends with my brother but that girl was almost like a sister to me, the same with Cassie and Sabrina. Sab had turned her head to face Cassie and I for agreement and we stood there with blank faces. We weren't gonna do that to Bev.
"Actually, Greta... she's in the cafeteria. You better get there quick, before she leaves!" Cassie blurted out. I nodded in agreement.
"The cafeteria huh. Thanks, whoever you two are." Greta hurried out of the restroom to go and find Beverley."So you're just gonna fucking do that to her aye? Some kinda friend you are dude." I said, folding my arms.
"Listen, okay I don't like Beverley. I never have and never will, she slept with Henry Bowers have you not heard?! You guys know I'm like, obsessed with the guy... I'm just saying, she had it coming." Sabrina whisper-shouted, making sure nobody else heard.
"They're just rumours, dickhead! You know damn well they are." Cas raised her voice slightly.
"Whatever." Sabrina stormed out, shoving Cassie on the way.Another thing about Sabrina, is that she will do absolutely anything to boost her popularity, and lately she's been trying to become friends with Greta Keene. It's not working, but she's dumb enough to think it is, she'll take any shot she gets to talk to her and her gang. Cassie tried to drop her long ago, but it didn't exactly work out well. She said she was tired of what she was doing, how she spoke about everyone behind their backs. Sabrina could easily fool me however, by treating me well, how I like to be treated, how we've treated eachother since we became friends. This time however, I think I've had enough and decided it really was time to cut ties with her, no matter how much it would hurt me.
