A-Lora sat on the window seal lost in thought. Her mind began to buzz with questions as to why nothing is being done to help the dying planet. Its condition continues to worsen each passing day as all those around her live their lives as if nothing was wrong.

She was drawn out of thought as a light knock sounds at her door. A small head pops through the door as it slowly pushes open. "A-Lora, is everything alright?" Her mother A-Lana calls out as she begins to enter her daughters room.

A-Lora glances down at her hands as she begins to fidget with her fingers, "Yes mom I'm fine."

"I've just been taking more notice of the state of our planet lately." She looks up at her mother her eyes growing wide as she continues on.

"You have noticed how everything is dying? Or how our food supply is scarce and that the air quality is starting to become dangerously toxic. Right?" The woman quirk's an eyebrow at her daughter as she goes on a worry rant, knowing very well that her daughter has yet again turned off her emotion inhibitors.

"A-Lora sweetie, have you turned your emotion inhibitors off again? We've talked about this, you know that emotions aren't good for telepaths. You've also had little experience with them so they are still hard for you to control."

"You should be so grateful that I'm on the council and won't say anything. Besides we have nothing to worry about, everything will be handled."

A-Lora rises from her spot in the window, moving towards her mother. She sighs as she quickly realizes that her mother is trying to once again deflect what she has to say. "Mom I may not have used my emotions much but that's besides the point."

"And yes I do understand that emotions aren't good for us, but how can I not worry? You've told me the same thing for the past four months and everything has continued to get worse."

"As a leading council member, I thought that you would be more active about our situation." A-Lana pauses for a moment unsure of what to say. She knows that logic won't win her daughter over so she begins to use her knowledge of compassion as best as she can.

"I assure you that everything is being taken care of. It's just been hectic for us because we have so many things to take care of." A-Lora frowns, she did not like what she was hearing from her mother. The council isn't focused on saving their planet. If the council refused to address the issue then that would mean that very soon they would have no home and an even bigger issue at hand.

"But if- if we have no home then you guys won't have anything to take care of. How could you not put our planets condition first?" The woman pulled a light frown as she could see a new emotion beginning to stir up in her daughters heart. She knew if she didn't fix it now, it could lead to bigger problems.

The woman reaches for her daughters hand and A-Lora hestiently accepts her mother's gesture. "A-Lora listen, we're doing our best to help this planet but we're just not sure how to start. So we figured it would be good for us to just focus on other matters."

Still unsatisfied with her answer, the young girl takes her hand away from her mother's. She makes her way to the bed, taking a seat on the edge. "I Just don't get it, why won't you guys bring this up with everyone?" Sighing, knowing how dominant stubbornness is in her daughter with her emotions on, the woman makes her way over to A-Lora's side.

"Oh sweetie, we would love to bring this up with everyone but that would risk disagreement. We cannot put the harmony of our world in danger."

Now frustrated with her mother, A-Lora decides to stop talking about the matter. "You know what mom its fine, your completely right. I shouldn't worry about this." A bit taken back by her daughters sudden change of demnor, the woman sends her a big smile satisfied that she has decided to drop the matter.

"Good." Quick to change the subject, A-Lana brings up other news for her daughter to focus on. "You know, A-Li wanted me to let you know that she wants you to come over for a girl's day tomorrow. Are you up for it?"

Just as quick as her mother decided to change the subject, A-Lora was just as quick to follow along with her lead. She glanced up at her mother as she had an idea. "That sounds fun. I could also stay the night and we could stay up late playing games." The woman's eyes lit up grateful that her subject change worked, as she began to make her way towards the door.

"Yes! That sounds fantastic just make sure you turn your emotion inhibitors back on. I don't want you to be overwhelmed by too much emotion and if anyone finds out, I don't want anything bad to happen."

A-Lora nodded towards her mother as guilt began to fill her heart, knowing that she would be very far from A-Li's house tomorrow night because A-Lora had a plan and she was determined to let nothing stop her from finding a way to save their planet.
