It was now sixth period, the last class of the day and A-Lora sat with Addison towards the middle of the class and closer to the wall.
(I know it's not common to have six classes in high school but just bare with me lol. I have 8 and do 4 each day so I know how I'm setting this up is a bit strange.)
Ms.Badger, sat at her desk having given the class the last ten minutes to work on their assignment.
Having finished hers already, A-Lora leaned in close to Addison helping the
girl with a few things here and there."I don't get it Lorry." Addison whispers to her friend, who sat confused as to why she wasn't understanding the assignment.
"It's okay Addison, I will explain it again. So see here-" A-Lora starts point at something on Addison's paper.
But before she could finish, she's cut off, "No not this."
"Oh, what's wrong?" Feeling attentive, A-Lora turns towards Addison visually checking her over to make sure she's alright.
"I just don't get why you want to stop cheerleading. I mean we all worked really hard to make the team and cheer is an automatic pass to fitting in around here."
A small sigh leaves A-Lora, not quite sure how to fully explain everything to her friend. "Well it's complicated. I do find much satisfaction in cheer but Bucky stands for everything I want to go against. He treats Zombie's with no respect and that is not a person I want to stand with."
Addison nods understanding A-Lora's words. "Oh I totally get it. But Lorry, we could also change things through cheer. I know Bucky and I have a feeling he will come around one day."
Grabbing onto A-Lora's hands Addison smiles, "But I also respect your decision. You are so much braver than me. If you ever decide to cheer again, I'll do all I can to hold your place."Looking down at their intertwined hands, A-Lora smiles. "I want to thank you Addison. That means much to me. Even so, you too are very brave. You've done so much for me and you continue to do much for the Zombies. You are greatly appreciated."
Addison smiles as the bell rings signaling the end of class. The two girls pack away their stuff and head into the hallway to find Bree.
"I'm way fired up for this football game. (sorry I had to 😪) Zed's going to be playing. Are you gonna come watch?"
A-Lora nods excitedly, "Ooh yes! I'm even going to bring my Amelia to come and watch if she's not occupied with other task of course."
"Your Amelia?" The blond frowns confused by A-Lora's word choice.
A-Lora too frowns not understanding why Addison was confused. That was until she remembered that Amelia was supposed to be known as her grandmother.
"Oh yes. Amelia is my grandmother. I now live with her after having to move here."
Addison nods as the two girls spot Bree up ahead waiting by the top of the stairs. "Bree, hi!" A-Lora gushes as she and Addison approach her.
"Hey girls." Bree smiles waving at the other two girl. "You two ready to go? We have to get ready for the football game."
"Yeah. I was just telling A-Lora. Let's go girls." The three girls link arms as they make their way out of the school and to their home.
After arriving at her house, A-Lora heads inside to find Amelia on the couch watching TV with Gadget.
"Happy greetings Amelia! I have returned from school."
The older woman turns the TV down as she gets up off the couch coming over to A-Lora, Gadget following close behind her. "Hi Alora, how was school?"
