"I don't think I'll be going to Prawn this year." Addison sighs as she leans on the table.
Bree looks over at A-Lora nodding along, "Even if Bonzo did ask me, the anti-monster laws won't let him go. It's hopeless."
A-Lora frowns as Bree too sighs slouching down next to Addison. She moves her drink to the side, folding her arms on the table. "I really thought that Seabrook was changing. There has to be something we can all do."
The three girls sat in silence as they thought. They had been out together all morning that day catching up as school was starting the very next day. A-Lora sat watching the people leave and enter the small café as she thought about school tomorrow and how nothing had been done in favor of getting the anti-monster laws lifted. A-Lora was so excited to see Seabrook taking a progressive stance only for it to be ruined when an all new species shows up probably looking for someplace to be accepted and welcomed just as she was.
Remembering, that Amelia wanted her back home at a certain time, A-Lora gets up gathering all her things, "I have to head home now. My grandmother is expecting me." A-Lora says smiling sadly at the two girls and they sluggishly wave goodbye to their friend. "See you both tomorrow." A-Lora makes her way out of the shop, beginning her walk home.
Walking into the house, A-Lora finds Amelia in the living room reading while Gadget sat on the couch across from her. The TV playing in the background. "Happy greetings Amelia." A-Lora plops down on the couch next to Gadget, the old dog immediately going to rest in the girls lap.
A-Lora strokes Gadget, Amelia turning to face her. "Hello dear. Did you have a good time out with the girls today?" She nods, "It's was lovely. We played many games, we went to a few stores and then we went to a café. The café was not as pleasant as we ended up discussing the anti-monster laws, nonetheless it was a very excellent time overall."
Nodding satisficed with her answer, Amelia returns to her book. "Oh by the way, I don't have your school schedule dear. The school called and asked me to let you know you'll have to pick it up from the office tomorrow morning. They wanted to discuss your classes with you."
"Thank you for letting me know. I'll make sure I head their first tomorrow morning." The two sit in a comfortable silence, Amelia reading while A-Lora watches TV. The two enjoying the time they get to spend together. At times, it almost seemed like the two we're truly a real family.
------
It was the first day of school. A-Lora's first day of sophomore year and her second year of actually attending school. To say she was nervous was an understatement. She got ready leaving her hair in a half up half down style with two ponytails.
She makes her way into the kitchen being greeted by Amelia and a stack of pancakes. "Happy morning Amelia." She takes a seat at the island and begins eating her pancakes.
"Happy morning indeed. Are you excited for today?" A-Lora nods her mouth full.
"I am ecstatic! I am nervous yet excited. I feel like I'm going to throw up and cry all at once." She says stuffing more pancakes into her mouth.
"Well I hope you don't do any of those things sweetie. Finish up quickly and head off to school alright? I'm going to take Gadget on her walk. I'll see you later dear."
A-Lora smiles as Amelia walks off to prepare Gadget for their walk. Sometime after finishing her breakfast, A-Lora heads back into her room, grabbing her backpack and heading back towards the front door.
The walk to school seemed pretty quick to A-Lora that morning. She watches as students gather around her each one pouring into the building one after another. She begins to frown slightly picking at her fingers as she makes her way to the front office, remembering some of the bad experiences she had last school year.
