Chapter 9

Kai's POV

  Laurence takes me and Garroth to the place where we met and there was a picnic with a basket and everything.

  "What's this?" I ask while laughing a little and taking my helm off.

  "Well I thought this could be mine, yours,... and Garroth's spot since this is where we first met and where we found out more about you."

  "Wow just wow I can't believe you did this." I look at Laurence and see him smile then I look at Garroth and he smiles as well. "Well shall we." They both nod and sit down. We eat and talk about all kinds of things. From guard work to what we do to relax. "So you're telling me you're from Meteli and your sister Cadenza is the owner of the tailor in town. You were originally an orphan who was adopted by Cadenza's dad. You went to the nether to save a chicken shaman, stayed behind so he and Aphmau could get out but they forced you to become a Shadow Knight against your will and that was how you were able to keep up with me," I ask surprised. Laurence looks at me and nods.

  "Yep, so for a while I would try to fight it but it won so I try to live with it and yeah that's pretty much all of it."

  "Don't forget you had long orange hair and green eyes too," Garroth says, laughing a little.

  "S-shut up."

  "What does he mean Laurence?"

  "Well my sister dyed my hair to match hers kinda and I let her do it to be a nice brother. The eyes are because of becoming a Shadow Knight. They were originally green but after Ungrth my wyvern-"

  "YOU HAD A WYVERN!" I yell in surprise which shocked both boys. They both nod.

  "Yeah Garroth has one as well." I look at Garroth who smiles and nods.

  "His name is Raven and he lives around here. He delivers letters and brings them to me. Maybe you'll meet him sometime." I nod.

  "Yeah maybe."

  "Ok can I continue," Laurence asks while smirking. I nod and say sorry. "Ok well Ungrth brought me back from the nether while it did kill him and I can show you the grave in town, I was blind for a while and I believe my eyes turned white because of that. After a while my eyes turned blue. I believe it was a week or two before we met you."

  "Wow, so not that long." He nods.

  "So anything else you would like to add about your past," he ask with a smirk.

  "Well not really I hate Zane and the Ro'meave family."

  "Why the whole family Zane's the only ass, why hate the rest of the family."

  "Zane got it from his dad, his mother said nothing about him being wrong and I have a feeling his brothers are the same."

  "Brothers?"

  "Yeah I would think you would know Zane is the middle child he has an older brother who most likely died but he probably didn't since he could do something else than run a kingdom and he younger brother was killed but according to Zane he probably is a Shadow Knight."

  "Do you know the names of his brother's," Garroth asks, a little scared.

  "No, I could find out their names and Zane wouldn't tell me or his parents. They didn't even like me talking about them."

  "Well sorry to hear that."

  "It's fine, so Garroth, what about your past?" He looks at me nervously.

  "Why do you ask?"

  "Well since Laurence and I shared our past, why don't you share yours." Garroth looks at Laurence as if telling him something. Laurence nods and grabs me. "H-hey what are you doing?"

  "Eh I think it's getting late, we should get back so the others don't ask where we've been."

  "Yeah come on Kai let's pack up and head back."

  "Ok but why did you grab me to tell me that?"

  "Because I can now come on."

A little bit later
Laurence's POV

  Garroth and I went to the old guard's tower where we now sleep. No one was there, surprisingly. 

  "Wonder where everyone is," I whisper since Garroth is freaking out.

  "What if she finds out I'm a Ro'meave? What if she hates me forever? What if-"

  "She won't hate you, she already likes you as a friend and when us guards and Aphmau found out we didn't hate you."

  "You don't know that, she might not want to be near me or even leave the village."

  "Garroth! She isn't going to leave the village and she'll still hang out with you if she finds out so don't worry ok."

  "That's if she finds out which she won't." We look at each other for a few minutes without speaking to each other then we decide to go to bed.
