Chapter 10

In the morning
Kai's POV

  I wake up to someone banging on my door. I go outside to see Laurence with an excited expression on his face and not wearing his armor. He is wearing a white shirt and green shorts.

  "Morning, why are you so happy?"

  "Come train with me and Garroth!"

  "Why."

  "Because you and I can work with our abilities and see who is better and Garroth will just watch before we train with him without our abilities."

  "Ok two things: one, don't we have duty and two, where are we going to practice?"

  "Well Aphmau said we can have the day off for some reason. but come back if needed and we have a place in a clearing that we found outside the wall. So will you come?"

  "Sure I'm guessing we are going to do both sword and fist combat." He nods and smirks. "Ok but wait a second I need to get ready." He looks down and sees I'm only in black shorts and a sports bra. He blushes and looks away and I leave him and get ready. Before I walked off he told me to dress normally, no armor, and I can just grab a hoodie. I put a dark blue shirt on and longer black shorts and grab one of my hoodies along with my sword. I come out and Laurence asks if I'm ready to go. I say yes and we head off.

At the clearing

  As we get there I see Garroth in a white shirt and blue shorts.

  "Hey Garroth," Laurence and I say together. We look at each other and laugh. Garroth turns around and waves at us.

  "Hey I see you got Kai to come."

  "Yep and now we can train." With that I take off my hoodie and put my sword down and get ready. Laurence does the same and Garroth just watches.

  "I'm assuming we're using our powers."

  "Yep Shadow Knight and... werewolf powers?"

  "Yeah, I have a few tricks up my sleeve with me being a werewolf so, shall we."

  "We shall." We get in our fighting stances and prepare our abilities. Laurence turns into a Shadow Knight and I activate my powers. My ears and tail come out a little more. My eyes change from blue to a bluey- black like the night sky. I get a few small claws from the end of my fingers. After I finish I look at the guys and they both look at me with amazement and a little shock on their faces. I smirk at them knowing they're impressed. I decide to make them embarrassed.

  "Hey boys my eyes are up here." They both look at me and blush then look away. "Hey I'm just playing, calm down." After a minute they both look back at me. "You ready Laurence." He nods and we get ready. Here we go. I charge at Laurence and jump. I jump higher than normal which makes Laurence tense up. As I am going to hit him he dodges it. I growl at him and he smirks. We go back and forth for about 2 hours before we stop by him hurting me enough to completely stop me. I land on my feet with my back facing him. He is right behind me so I decide to turn around and kick him. As I do he grabs my leg and spins me for a few seconds then lets go. When he does I go flying to a tree and my back hits it hard. It completely winds me and I slide down the tree. Laurence walks towards me and I start to tear up from the pain 'Danm it Kai, don't start crying, it wasn't that bad, get up.' I try to get up but I can't. Laurence gets closer and closer there is only one way to stop this. "Stop, I... give up." Laurence looks at me and smirks.

  "What can't handle it huh." I shake my head not being able to talk much. I start quietly crying. Garroth gets up and walks over to me and sees I'm crying.
