Chapter 12

Kai's POV
  As we walk into Bright Port we see a statue that isn’t of Irene like what we have in our village. We walk in and there are O’khasis guards standing at the entrance.
  “All citizens are to report to their houses till morning.” One says to us we head in and look around no one is outside and guards are everywhere Aph walks to a random house knocks and goes in the rest of us stay out here. We hear a woman yell at her and she comes out.
  “Who’s house is that’s
  “Well a man who I met about the time I got to Phoenix Drop named Visher. He died in an accident when he left on a boat. The boat exploded for some reason. We have no clue how or who or why they did that but I brought him back and she doesn’t like me since we have no clue who did it. Her son likes me though he had me get a wolf pup out of here and return it to his parents.”
  “Aphmau?” We look over and see a man next to the house. Aph smiles and gives him a hug.
  “Hey you’ve grown so much. Guys this is their son.” We all say hi and talk for a bit. After we finish, Aphmau walks us to another house and it has a sign ‘Aphmau’s home away from home’. “The last time I came here I stayed here but it was smaller last time, let’s go in.” As we all go in we close the door and lock it. “Well it’s getting late so let’s head to bed.” Since there was only one bed we gave it to Kiki. Aaron sits next to the wall by the door and Aph sits beside him. Garroth and Laurence sit next to each other near the stairs by Kiki. I sit across from them and got ready for bed. It’s a little cold and I can’t sleep. I get up to see Kiki asleep on the bed, Garroth and Laurence leaning against each other. Aph is curled up in Aaron’s arms. I smile at them knowing that they are happy. I walk up the stairs to the top of the house which has a tower on top of it. I look at the night sky and relax. I stay outside for a bit and look at the stars. After a bit I decide to go back inside and try to sleep. I finally went to sleep and sleep all night.

Garroth’s POV
  I wake up and it’s still night. I look at Laurence and see he’s awake.
  “Why are you up?” I whisper.
  “Look.” He points over to Aphmau and she’s cuddling up with Aaron.
  “I… had a feeling they were together.” He nods. I look over to Kai and see she’s shivering a little. She must be cold. “Hey, look at Kai, she looks like she’s cold.” He looks at her and nods.
  “Yeah, maybe we can help her.”
  “How?”
  “Well we can bring her over here and lay her between us to warm her up.” He gets on his knees and crawls over to her. I do the same. We both pick her up and bring her over to where we were and sit her down. I get on her right and Laurence sits on her left. We lean against each other till we fall asleep.

In the morning
Kai’s POV
  I wake up with the feeling of people next to me. I open my eyes to see Garroth and Laurence asleep next to me. I blush and get up. I get up in a way so I don’t wake them up. As I get up I see Aphmau and Aaron up. “Hey guys, how'd you sleep?” I say with a smirk. Aphmau looks at me with a smirk of her own.
  “Good, how about you?”
  “Good, but I don’t remember sitting between them.” she nods.
  “Well we have a problem.” I look at her confused. “The O’khasis guards won’t let us leave and want me to go with them.”
  “Why would they want you to go with them?”
  “Zane said to me when he was in Phoenix Drop that he wanted me to be his bride and I refused and now the guards think I agreed and are trying to take me to him. There is no way out, they even put bedrock under the house so we can’t get through.” Just then the door opens to a guard. Aaron looks like he’s going to kill them but doesn’t.
  “Lady Aphmau, we must ask you to come with us so we can escort you to Zane.”
  “No, over my dead body.”
  “Fine then you will stay here till you come with us, and I’d be careful if I were you since one of your friends are sick.” They leave without another word. I feel something behind me and turn around to attack but it was only Garroth and Laurence who just woke up not too long ago.
  “I can’t believe they won’t let us leave.”
  “Yeah this is so stupid, how will we get to the wolf tribe if we can’t leave.” As we were all thinking of what to do I hear something and look to the ground. I see someone break through the bedrock.
  “How did you get through that?” Everyone stops and looks down at the girl to see her come up from the ground.
  “I didn’t know anyone was in here, this is where I stayed when I came here and made improvements since no one lived here, again sorry.”
  “No it’s alright but how did you get through the bedrock?”
  “My gloves help me get through this kind of stuff.”
  “Well can you help us get out of here. There are O’khasis guards outside and-”
  “O’khasis guards, are they here for me?”
  “What no they aren’t why would they- you know what we can talk about this later can you help us out of here.”
  “Yeah come on, just go down the ladder and wait down there for me.” She comes out of the hole and lets us go down. Aphmau goes over and grabs Kiki from the bed and heads for the hole. “Hey when we get to my base you can lay her on my bed.” Aph nods and heads down the ladder. I follow her and watch the woman put down a piece of stone and bedrock to cover our tracks, smart. As we all get down there she leads us over a little to where she stays and Aph puts Kiki on the bed. “Ok so my name is Nicole. What are your names?”
  “Well I’m Aphmau and these are my friends/guards. Aaron, Garroth, Laurence, and Kai. The girl on the bed is our friend Kiki.”
  “Why do you have guards if I may ask?”
  “I’m the lord of Phoenix drop.”
  “Cool, are you a lord that actually does stuff or do you normally sit on your butt all day.”
  “I help my people. Before I became lord I was helping build the town and the people started calling me lord and I never stopped helping them and if needed I will fight for my village and my people.” She nods and tells us we can stay here for a bit and she is going to look for her fox Roxy so we can leave. A little bit later she comes in and seems a little mad. “Nicole, are you ok?”
  “No, I can't find Roxy and my only way out is blocked by O’khasis guards. Wait Aphmau can you climb the ladder and see if you can hear them anywhere. If you can't, that means we might have a chance to get out of here and if not I’ll need to find Roxy to help me find a new way out of here.” Aph runs over and climbs the ladder. A few minutes later she comes back and shakes her head.
  “They’re still up there and if you need help finding Roxy I can help find her for you.”
  “That would be helpful, thank you.”
  “I can help too.” I get up and they both look shocked. “Sorry I didn’t mean to scare you but if you need help I can help too since the boys are somewhat asleep.”
  “What do you mean by somewhat asleep?”
  “Well a real guard always sleeps with one eye open.” They nod their heads and Aph and I get ready to head out. As we do Nicole gives us some night vision potions. “Hey um this may sound weird but do you have anything that has Roxy’s scent on it.”
  “Yeah uh her bed has her sent on it.”
   “Cool.” I walk over and bend down. I take my helmet somewhat off so Nicole and no one behind me can see it either. I smell her bed and get a scent. “Ok let’s go.” I say as I put my helm back on. After we leave Aph asks me something.
  “Hey, why did you ask for Roxy’s scent?”
  “I’m a werewolf if you remember and that means I can smell really well and if I have her scent we have a better chance at finding her.” She nods and we continue walking for a bit. Aph puts torches down so we can find our way back. After about 20-30 minutes we find lava and a bunch of mobs along with a white fox on a rock above the lava. “That must be Roxy.”
  “Yeah but we need to get through the mobs first. I nod and grab my sword. She does the same and we head to the mobs. It’s just some zombies, creepers, and skeletons with bows and arrows, not that hard to kill. After a few minutes we finish killing the last mob. Aph walks over to the fox and gets it to come with us. We get back to see the boys still asleep and Nicole giving medicine to Kiki.
  “There that should help you feel better- Roxy!!, you guys found her.” We nod and let Roxy go to her. “Ok this is good we should be able to leave in the morning so get some sleep.” We nod and Aph goes to sit with Aaron and I go to sit by Garroth and Laurence. A little bit later I feel someone grab me so I open my eyes to see Garroth moving me.
  “Really you have to have me in between you two.” I whisper. He looks at me shocked.
  “Oh, I didn’t realize you were awake. You were shivering a little and I thought you were cold so I wanted to help you warm up by putting you between us so our heat could keep you warm. That's what happened last night.” I nod and sit between them and put my head on Laurence’s shoulder and fall asleep between them.
