Gone with the Wolf

Chapter 6

Kai's POV
  Well here we go. I look at both of them and sigh. I look down and turn back around. I feel someone come sit next to me. I look to my left and see Laurence sitting there. He looks at me and smiles. I turn to my right to see Garroth sit next to me and take off his helm. Garroth is first to speak.
  "Would you like to explain what's going on? Why you let us call you a guy? What is going on with you and O'khasis and even Zane? But last but not least what is up with the werewolf ears?" I look down and start explaining everything.
  "First don't tell anyone about this or even about me being a werewolf and a 'girl'." They nod.
  "Why did you say girl like that?" Laurence asks, confused.
  "It's because I'm gender fluid...do you guys know what that means."
  "Kinda I know it's part of the LGBTQ but isn't to do with something about your gender."
  "Yeah it means I'm both a boy and girl. I don't care what gender you call me so that's why I didn't say anything about it and also so you didn't know what gender I am." They nod. "Ok so my mom was a werewolf and it passed on to me when I was born."
  "What do you mean was?"
  "Well she was...killed when I was 6." I look over to Laurence and see him look down.
  "I'm sorry I asked."
   "It's ok you didn't know." He looked up at me and I smile. He smiles back.
  "Wait how old are you now." I look at Garroth and smile.
  "I'm 18, how old are you two?"
  "18"
  "18"
  "Cool, we're the same age." They both smile at me and I smile back. "As with Zane and O'khasis is a really long story."
  "Well we have all night so go for it." I nod and I begin to explain.
  "My father was a guard for Zane before Zane killed him."
  "Why did Zane kill your dad?"
  "Well while my father worked for Zane he had the power to go anywhere in the castle that he wanted. I had some power but not much. I liked Zane when I first met him while with my dad. That will be a story for another time. My father was Zane's head guard, he did everything Zane said. One day my father came up to me and said he was going to steal the 'eye of the dragon'."
  "The 'eye of the dragon' but I thought anyone who has it gets unbelievable power."
  "That is correct so you can see why my dad wanted it. Now can I finish my story without being interrupted Laurence."
  "Yeah sorry."
  "It's fine ok so my dad told me to distract Zane and I refused since I didn't want to deal with it but I was planning to go to the castle to talk to Zane since he wanted me to be one of his guards and I was happy to be one. I had a little more training to do before I could be his guard but he wanted to talk to me about it. Zane and I were pretty close since whenever I went to give something to my dad from someone I would go talk to Zane. My dad didn't tell me when he was going to do it or why he was going to do it. I forgot he was going to do it and so I went to speak to Zane about things. We finished our conversation and he was taking me to the front to wait for my dad. My dad came running up behind us getting away from the guards. When he spotted me he stopped and said it worked and to run. I asked him what he meant by that and he said that he got the eye and thanks for distracting Zane my eyes went wide. I looked at Zane and he was shocked. I looked back to my father and said I didn't remember anything about that. He told me to stop lying and to come on. I looked back to Zane and he yelled for his guards to hurry up. When he looked back at me I saw so many emotions. He was sad, mad, disappointed, and betrayed. I said I was sorry with tears in my eyes. I began to run because I knew Zane wouldn't listen to me. As my father and I ran I heard something hit the ground. I looked behind me and my dad was on the ground. There were a few arrows in him. He told me to run but I didn't want to leave him. He yelled at me to run, which I did after a moment. He still had the eye with him when I left. I turned around to look at him one last time and when I did one of the guards cut his head off. With that last sight I ran I put my helmet on so no one would recognize me. Then after a bit you guys found me, and that's my story." I was crying by now but you wouldn't be able to hear it. I felt someone hug me. I look to the side and Laurence was hugging me. I wrap my arms around him and just cry. Garroth started to pat me on the back.
  "Let it all out," Laurence, who was still hugging me, said.
  "Just cry ok you must have been holding it in for a while huh," Garroth says calmly. I nod and just sit there for a bit. After a while Laurence pulls me till I lay down on him. I look up and give him a confused look.
  "You should lay down for a bit then we can head back."
  "But what if I fall asleep."
  "Then fall asleep and I'll carry you back."
  "No, that's not fair for you though since I can walk by myself."
  "Just relax ok, we aren't going to take no for an answer."
  "F-fine just remember don't tell anyone ok."
  "Ok"
  "Ok"
