Chapter 16

Kai’s POV
In the morning
  I wake up to see Aph getting on her horse. It's still really early and the boys are still asleep. I get up and walk over to her.
  “Aphmau what are you doing? It's still early?”
  “I’m heading to the wolf tribe by myself.”
  “Why, that seems dangerous?”
  “I know that if the boys go with me that they will attack the wolves if anything happens so I want to go to try and talk to them before anything happens.”
  “Fine but I’m going with you?”
  “Why?”
  “Just in case something does happen but I will follow your lead no matter what.” She nods and I grab my backpack and get on my horse and we set off. 4 to 5 hours later we see some wolves from the tribe and a castle. As we near them they look at us ‘I’m glad I put that perfume on 10 minutes ago.’ I stop but Aph goes a little farther and I notice that they are coming near us “Aphmau they’re coming to hurt us we need to get to the castle.”
  “No they aren’t- no they are, to the castle!”
  “Come on Lord Aphmau, we have to hurry.” As we get into the castle we jump off our horses and close the doors. After a minute we don’t hear anything so we back away and look around. “Where are we?”
  “I’m not really sure but we should look around.” I nod and we head up the stairs and head in different directions. I don’t find much but I keep looking around. I find a room and go inside, but something feels off. As I get to the back of the room I turn around and see some kind of spirit, he uses his powers on me and I fall to the ground and start seeing something that seems like a nightmare.

Aphmau’s POV
  I walk around and decide to find Kai. I find a room with her in it and run up to her. She has weird particles floating around her. I turn around and see a spirit just standing there.
  “W-who are you?”
  “Let’s see what you fear most.” With that last word I see Phoenix Drop up in flames. After about a minute or so I come back to the room with Kai and the spirit. “Scared of your village dying, heh typical.” I look over to Kai to see if she is ok. “Do you want to see what she is most scared of?” Before I can say anything I’m going back to the village. Garroth, Laurence, Katelyn, Dante, Travis, Aaron, and I are yelling at Kai. Zane is there and he’s laughing. Kai tries to run but Garroth grabs her arm. Laurence comes up behind her with his sword. He puts it against her neck and cuts her head off. I come back and look at the spirit.
  “That was horrible.”
  “I sense three more people have entered my castle and they know you as well.” With that Kai and I were teleported back to the front of the castle. Garroth, Laurence, and Aaron are standing there.
  “We need to find Aphmau and Kai.” Garroth and Laurence nod. I yell at them but they can’t hear me. I try to wake up Kai but it doesn’t work. As I look back down I see something that looks like me and Kai.
  “There you two are, why did you just leave us without saying something to us?” The two clones grab their swords and get into a fighting stance. “What are you guys doing?” The Kai clone jumps at my clone with its sword and mine blocks it. They keep fighting and after a few minutes mine runs up and cuts Kai’s clone head off. I sit there in shock and so do the boys. Garroth and Laurence run up to the “fallen Kai'' and look at her. Garroth turns towards the other clone and starts yelling.
  “What the hell Aphmau, why did you do that?” It said nothing that made Garroth even angrier. He pushed my clone to the ground and I feel the glass break. As I look at the glass under me and it breaks. Me and Kai fall and hit the floor. As we do I hear Laurence.
  “What the- you're not Aphmau. Then where is-?” I walk up behind them and look to see a ghost child. I walk past them and kneel next to him.
  “Hey, are you ok?” He looks up at me and just sits there scared.

Kai’s POV
  I wake up on the floor with a slight headache. I get up and almost lose my balance. As I steady myself I look up to see the guys and Aphmau looking at someone. I walk up to them. Aaron is the first to see me since he is at the bottom of the stairs. I walk up the stairs and see they are looking at a spirit. As I get to the top Laurence sees me and I smile. I feel dizzy and stumble forward. Laurence grabs me and pulls me next to him. He has his arm around my waist to help me balance. Garroth looks over to us and looks happy to see me.
  “Hey Kai, are you ok?”
  “Yeah, just a little dizzy.”
  “That’s why I’m holding onto you so you don’t fall.” I roll my eyes and look at the child. I pull Laurence’s arm off of me. I walk over to Aph and I fall to my knees. Garroth and Laurence come over to me and make sure I’m ok. I nod and put my hand on my head. Aph looks at me with worry.
  “I’m fine Lord Aphmau.” she sighs and looks back at the kid. Aaron finally walks up and sees the kid.
  “Aphmau get away from him.”
  “Why should I, he’s not doing anything.”
  “He’s a spector, he makes people see something they fear most.”
  “I’m sorry I got scared since I don’t know who any of you are and I’ve been here so long.” Aphmau looks at me and I nod.
  “How about you come with us?” The ghost looks at us.
  “Really?” We nod.
  “Hey kid, what's your name?”
  “Malachi, my name is Malachi.”
  “Well nice to meet you Malachi. I’m Kai.” He smiles and the boys introduce themselves. I start to feel dizzy again. Malachi looks at me and he looks sorry.
  “Sorry you’re going to feel a little dizzy for a bit since I used my power on you.”
  “It’s fine, don't worry about it.” Garroth comes over and helps me up but I push him away. “I don’t need help, Garroth, I can get up on my own.”
  “Fine but we should set up a camp so we can rest since it’s getting late.” We all nod and everyone goes down stairs. I got up and walk to the stairs and fall backwards on my butt. Garroth and Laurence come back up and help me up. I try to push them off but I can’t.
  “Just stop Kai, we’re going to help you since you can’t even walk a few steps without falling. So stop resisting.” I give up and let them help me. When we get down stairs they sat me next to a wall. They get a campsite ready and I sit there with Malachi. After a few minutes everything is ready to go. They help me get to my spot between Garroth and Laurence. I sit there and we just talk for the rest of the night.

A few hours later
I wake up to the sound of fighting. I look over and see Aaron sitting there looking at the front door. Not long after Laurence walks in upset.
  “What were you and Garroth fighting about?” Aaron asks with no emotion.
  “Nothing, just him denying what is going to happen eventually.” I lay there listening, hoping to know why they were fighting.
  ‘Is it about me that they were fighting about?’ A few minutes later Aphmau and Garroth walk in.
  “Hey sorry for not listening to you, you were right.”
  “No, I’m sorry for attacking you and being an ass about it.”
  “It’s fine, let’s just talk about it later.” I really want to go back to bed so I say.
  “Oh my Irene, can you guys just be quiet? Some of us are trying to sleep with one eye open.” They both laugh and apologize. Garroth and I take off our helmets. We all went to sleep that night ready for morning. Tomorrow is another day.
