Chapter 15

Kai’s POV
  I wake up to see Garroth is still asleep but Laurence isn’t here. I get up and walk out of the hut to see Aaron getting some supplies.
  “Hey Aaron.” He looks up and waves.
  “Hey Kai I see you're not wearing your helmet.” I nod.
  “Yeah since you already know what I look like might as well not wear it. I will be putting it on when we leave because of my ears.” He nods.
  “Can’t you hide your ears?”
  “I can but it takes energy but if I practice I could, I just never practice so yeah.” He nods. “I will need to go to the forest to get some stuff so I can hide my scent so wolves can’t tell that I’m not human. Also do you know where Laurence is?” He points to where the portal is and I nod. “Thanks Aaron.” As I get to the portal I see Laurence looking at the portal. I decide to scare him. I go up behind him and yell. “Boo!” He jumps and turns to look at me. I start laughing at his expression.
  “Really Kai?”
  “You…should have…seen your face.” I say between laughs.
  “Your an ass.”
  “I know, but come on, that was funny.” He rolls his eyes at me and smirks.
  “You want to see something else funny?” I look at him confused. Before I could react he grabs my wrist and pinned me on the wall. I blush, I'm not sure what to do. He gets close to my ear and whispers in a flirtatious voice. “You should see the look on your face. You look cute when you're blushing.” Just then Garroth walks in and sees this.
  “What's going on here?” We both look at him. Laurence smirks and lets go.
  “Nothing just trying to make her blush.”
  “Why, if I may ask?”
  “Because she scared me so I got back at her.” He nods and looks over to me and sees me on the ground and laughs a little.
  “I think you broke her,” He looks down at me on the ground blushing madly and just in shock. “You good Kai?” I nod

A few minutes later
  I finally calm down and go get some things to cover my scent. I get back and everyone is almost ready to go, so I make my perfume. Before we head out we go to tame horses.
  “Ok so how do we do this?” Garroth asks.
  “You need to choose one, get on it and stay on it,then put a saddle on it. But be careful since they will try and kick you off so have fun and if you give them an apple it will help some.” He nods and we were off. I go after a black horse with some white on its face. I grab an apple and hold it out. It walks up to me and sniffs the apple. It takes the apple and eats it while looking at me. As it finishes I go over to its side and pet it. I then get on it and it tries to buck me off but I pet it main and it calms down.After a few minutes I get off and grab a saddle and some other things. I go over to it and put everything on it carefully and it lets me. I grab a few more apples and put them next to the horse so it can eat. “I think I’ll call you,midnight.” Now I wait for the others to get their horses.

Aaron's POV
  I chose to tame a white horse. I walk over to it and pet it. When it goes down I get on it. It doesn’t try to buck me off and I smirk. “Not that bad huh?” I get off and grab and saddle and put it on. I look over to see Kai has her-his-their horse. That’s still confusing. I look over to Aph to see she is having a few problems so I walk over to help her.

Aphmau’s POV
  I decide a black and white horse. As I near it, it looks at me and walks away. I run up to it and pet it. It runs away and I go after it. After a few minutes it stops running and I start petting it but it keeps moving it’s head.
  “You need help?” I look over to Aaron walking towards me. I nod.
  “It won’t let me on it.” He chuckles and goes up to the horse. He grabs my hand and gives me an apple. I walk over and give the apple to the horse. Aaron gets down on one knee and helps me up. As I relax the horse looks as if it were going to buck me off. But it didn’t and I got off. Aaron went to get me a saddle and help me put it on. I look over to see Kai helping Garroth and Laurence with their horses. It will be a few minutes before we can even leave so let’s see what happens.

Laurence’s POV
  I decide a brown horse to ride. As I walk up to it it does nothing. I pet it and nothing happens. As I get on it it goes crazy and bucks me off. I try again and it does the same thing. After a bit I want to give up since this horse is starting to piss me off.
  “You need help?” I turn to see Kai laughing a little at me.
  “Why are you laughing at me?”
  “It’s not just you.” She points over to Garroth who is having trouble as well. “So you need help or what?”
  “Yeah.” She comes over and looks into the horse's eyes and pets it. She runs off and returns with an apple and gives it to me. She points to the horse and moves. I walk up to it and offer it the apple. It eats it and goes back to eating grass. Kai walks over to me and bends down and offers to help me up but I get up on my own with no problem. She rolls her eyes and pets the horse. I wait for it to kick me off but it doesn’t. She nods and goes over to help Garroth. I grab a saddle and put it on my horse. Now all that is left is Garroth.

Garroth’s POV
I chose a brown and white horse to ride. I jump on it and it kicks me off. I do it a few more times before I hear Kai walk over.
  “You need help with your horse?” I look at her and look back at my horse.
  “Yes please.” She walks over and pets the horse and hands it an apple after a few minutes she tries to help me up. I do it on my own and the horse bucks me off.
  “You good?” I nod. “That’s weird, here let me try.” She gets on the horse and it kicks her off.
  “You ok?” She nods and gets up and gets back on the horse but she’s holding on a little tighter than last time. The horse tries to kick her off for a few minutes before giving up. Kai jumps off and grabs a saddle and puts it on. I look at her and she smiles.

Kai’s POV
  “Well you got a tough one Garroth.” He laughs and we walk over to Aph.
  “Ok so we should start heading out but I don’t expect us to get too far since it took some time to get the horses.” We nod and we saddle up. As we are riding towards the other village Aph slows down and we all follow her.
  “You good Aph?” She rides to the right a bit and we follow. As we approach a metal door Aph stops and gets off.
  “This is one of the last places I saw Zenix before he disappeared.” Garroth’s eyes widen a bit.
  “Who’s Zenix?”
  “He was second in command before I came to Phoenix Drop. He trained under Garroth but it turns out he was a Shadow Knight, he attacked the village one day while Lord Aphmau was on a trip and it was horrible.” Laurence says while looking down. Aph gets off of her horse and walks up to the door. I follow her and the boys stay outside. As we enter it was just an empty room with another door that led to a cell with no one in it. After a few minutes we go back outside to see the boys have made a campsite for the night. We had dinner and all went to bed.
