Kim was bothered by what Porchay had told him. He had been investigating his father for months, unable to figure out why he had hired Porsche out of the blue. He knew something was up. The accusation added to his concerns. He wondered as he headed to his father's room.
Kinn was already there listening carefully to Korn.
"I want you two to protect the family at all costs." He told them. "Porsche holds me accountable for his mother's death. He will be here to kill me. I also believe he used Kinn to find out more about his family." Korn stated.

Kinn's face turned pale. Not only was Porsche his life, but also head of the minor family. He himself had ordered this and his father's words felt like a stab in the heart.
"Kinn, keep yourself together. You are the future of this family. Betrayals happen all the time. Be bolder." Korn continued. Kim's jaw was clenched. He had a bad feeling about his father.  Porsche was appointed by Korn not the other way around. He just heard his father accuse Porsche of reaching out the family when it was not true. He became more suspicious.

"The issue is not what Porsche believes in, Pa. The issue is who killed the woman. There is someone inside the family who did it. But who?" Kim asked.
"We haven't found that out yet. This is not the time anyway. We have to keep the minor family at bay. The present and the former minor family both seek revenge. I have heard Porchay is here. Who brought him?"

Kim hesitated for a bit before saying that a guard brought Chay in for the funeral.
"Lock him up. We will use him as bait. Porsche needs to be stopped at any costs. He might even kill Kinn and this lovesick guy won't even defend himself."
Both Kinn and Kim looked at their father with shock. This was unbelievable. Kim retaliated first.

"You can not lock him up." His voice was raised with anger.
"You will not talk back." Korn's voice was even louder. "Handle your bother, Kinn. Prove yourself worthy of the head's title." Korn left the room. His orders were final.

"Phi, how can you trust Pa blindly? What if he's involved?" Kim tried to convince Kinn.
"Have you lost it? He's your father. He was the woman's brother. What motive does he have?"
Kim grew silent. He did not have enough evidence to back up his and Porchay's claims.

"You will fight for the family and protect Pa. It's your duty." Kinn stated.

Before they could discuss further, they were startled by gunshots.  Porsche and Vegas had began their shoot out.

"There's been an attack!" Kim exclaimed heading towards his room. Towards Porchay. He prayed his boyfriend was safe.

But he entered an empty room. Had they taken Chay away? Had they locked him up? Fuck. Where was he? Kim panicked. His phone buzzed on the side table distracting him. Someone was calling. Kim picked it up without thinking much.

"Is this Mr. Han?" The unknown voice asked.
"Yes. I am Mr Han." Kim replied. He used the name Han while investigating stuff. It was clear this man was someone he had put to work to search for more evidence.
"I reviewed the data you had asked me to. The owner of the casino business, before Korn Theerapanyakul was a woman. Her name was Namphueng Kittisawasd. She had the business for about eight years. After that, she died. According to her will, all her property was given to Mr Theerapanyakul."

Kim froze. He knew the motive. Everything clicked. He knew now. His father killed Chay's mother because she knew. She wasn't dead and her will was tempered with. The business, the property, belonged to her. His father had stolen it. And she must've known. She must've remembered.

Kim took a gun from his bedside drawer. There was a full blown battle going on with Porsche's men. Kinn entered Kim's room.
"Are you ready?"
Kim held his brothers wrist, stopping him before he rushed out.
"Phi, we can't do this."
"Kim? What is wrong with you today?"
"It was Pa. He killed her. We shouldn't protect him."
"He's family. I don't care if he killed her. It's not like we haven't killed people. You have killed people too, Kim."
Kinn removed Kim's hand and turned towards the door.
"How will you hurt Porsche?"

Kinn stopped in his tracks. He had been running on his father's orders since morning, hadn't slept a wink, hadn't eaten anything. He was tired. His mind ran on autopilot. In a span of five minutes, which was all his father had given him, he had to accept that Porsche, the love of his life, had betrayed him. He had to accept that he's the enemy. But Kim's words made him want to cry. His heart ached. He couldn't keep himself together.

"Kim. You do it." He said as his tears started flowing.
Kim was frozen. He didn't know who to defend anymore.
Yes, he knew his father was wrong. But the mafia had always been unfair. There was no right or wrong in this morally grey world. There was no villain or hero, only a victor.

"Promise me, Kim. You will protect Pa. You will protect him." Kinn was sobbing now. The burden of his duty and his breaking heart were too much to handle.

"I promise."
