After Rafe's proposal, Dad and I went to grab some takeout from the local pub.

"How's the expansion going?" I asked.

"It's a pain in the ass."

I chuckled.

"Thank God we have Bradley overseeing the main building while we deal with the issues of the new one."

"That bad?"

"It's a lot of red tapes. Plus, you and Odin will oversee the sister company and take the overflow."

I arched my brow.

"Look, I get you're not a fan of the cousins, but Odin knows the ins and outs. Plus, he's been taking classes."

"It's not that I dislike the cousins."

"So, what's the deal?"

"We have different viewpoints of right and wrong." I shrugged.

"Val, not everyone will agree with your way of thinking. You learn to adapt to them."

I gave my dad a knowing look.

"You'll need to adapt because you'll work with Odin." Dad shrugged.

Great.

We arrived at the pub, grabbed the food boxes, and headed back to the house before the animals jumped on us.

We returned to the house as the animals jumped on us.

"Food!" Everyone said, crowding us.

I handed out styrofoam containers to everyone so they would maul us. Once everyone got their food, Tori and I sat down to eat.

"Why didn't you order pizza?" Tori asked me.

"I would have if I get didn't outvoted." I arched my brow.

Tori giggled.

Rafe walked to the kitchen. I snapped my fingers as he stopped and pointed at an empty chair. He rolled his eyes and plopped down in his chair.

"Did you talk to Devin before proposing to Reese?" I asked.

"Do I look like a complete idiot?" Rafe asked.

"Do you want me to answer that?"

Rafe rolled his eyes. "Yes, Dad. I talked to Devin when he came here and dropped his bombshell on us."

"I'm just making sure." 

"Can I grab a pop before my food becomes inedible, or will we have a full-blown interrogation?"

"Go." I waved Rafe off.

Rafe got up and walked into the kitchen. Tori giggled. I shook my head as I ate.

Romeo and Sage walked to the table and joined us.

"What?" I asked.

"Can't a son and his stunning fiancée have dinner with his folks?" Romeo asked.

"Not without a motive."

Tori elbowed me.

I gave Tori a skeptical look. "What?"

Tori rolled her eyes. "What's up, baby?"

"We wanted to ask about the wedding planning," Romeo said.

"What about it?" I asked.

Tori elbowed me again.

"Woman, I swear."

"Elias, knock it off."
