Marty
After my brothers and I talked, we realized you couldn't change the past. Holding onto guilt and anger doesn't help you or others. It eats away at you until you become a shell of your former self.
Now, did we become kind and considerate towards each other? Yeah, okay. Have you met us?
If you answered yes, you live on a different planet than us.
"Listen, you little weasel. I'm going to beat your ass," Rafe told me.
"I'd like to see you try, you dipshit," I replied.
"Who gives a shit? All you two do is fight," Pat said, walking past us.
"Have you met us? We always fight," I told Pat.
Romeo came out of the bathroom and pointed to his hair. "Who the hell out an orange dye in my shampoo bottle?"
"It wasn't me, but that's a lovely shade on you. It matches your skin tone," Rafe said.
"Add a green outfit, and we'll call you Lucky Charms." I smirked.
"I'll beat your ass!" Romeo chased me.
I sprinted to the steps and ran down them. Rafe leaned over the railing and laughed.
********
ValentineI sat in a chair, flipping through a book, when Marty and Romeo ran past me and out of the house.
"Did Romeo have orange hair?" Pat asked.
"Yep." I flipped a page.
"Did Marty put dye in Romeo's shampoo?"
"Nope." I pulled out a bottle of orange dye and waved it in front of Pat.
Pat's brows raised as I put the bottle away. Romeo gets that for giving me a coffee with creamer and sugar.
********
MartyRomeo caught me and shoved my head into the snow. I hauled off and kicked him in the nuts. He dropped to his knees, holding his boys. I got to my feet, cocked my arm, and socked him in the face. He fell over as I ran into the house.
Rafe walked over to the door. "Hey, Romeo! How're the boys?"
"Screw you, Raphael!" Romeo said in a high-pitched voice.
"It sucks when a baby brother can drop you!" Rafe laughed.
I plopped down on the couch next to Pat and crossed my arms.
Romeo limped into the house and winced. "I'm okay. I doubt I will reproduce, but I'm okay."
Rafe walked into the kitchen, returned with a bag of frozen peas, and slapped them on Romeo's junk. Romeo groaned.
"Damn, that's harsh," Pat said.
"Have you met me? Do I seem warm and fuzzy to you? Did Ma drop you on your head?" Rafe asked Pat.
"Do you want to breathe?" Pat asked Rafe.
Rafe shrugged.
The girls walked into the house and noticed us in the living room.
"Is there a reason you're hanging out in the living room?" Leokadia asked.
"Why? Do we need a reason to hang out in the living room?" Rafe asked.
"No, but it's weird." Leokadia noticed Romeo with a bag of peas on his crotch. "What happened to you?"
"Marty kicked me in the nuts." Romeo ambled to the couch, eased himself down, and groaned.
