3rd Person Pov:

Weeks went by, with Steve, Robin, and Y/n all working together at Scoops Ahoy. The three of them ended up being quite close, almost as if they were friends. An odd group, but it worked. It was tiring and stressful at times, but together, they still managed to have fun.

But the stress wasn't just because of the work on Y/n's behalf. She was still conflicted about how she felt about Robin. Every waking moment, Robin's smile, her voice, was on constant replay through Y/n's mind. Robin was just so pretty, and she was incredibly smart, too, and a fast learner. Maybe Y/n was just admiring Robin, as a friend, right? But Y/n had never felt this way about anyone before, nonetheless her best friend.

But other than the whole deal with Robin, there was other great news for Y/n. Her brother was coming back home from camp this week. She hadn't seen him in over a month. That was the longest time they've ever been apart.

Speaking of Dustin, his friends commonly visited Scoops Ahoy, but not for ice cream. They somehow had a connection with Steve, and they had persuaded him into letting them into R-rated movies. Y/n let it slide because they were good kids, and a friend of Dustin's was a friend of Y/n's.

Today was one of those days. Mike Wheeler, Max Mayfield, Lucas Sinclair (the more tolerable sibling of the two), and Will Byers had all come into the shop so they could go see Day of the Dead. Mike barged right up to the counter and rang the bell several times with an impatient look on his face.

"Hey Dingus and Bossman," Robin, who was manning the counter, called out to Steve and Y/n. "Your children are here!"

"Again, seriously?" Steve asked.

"This is getting out of hand!" Y/n added. Mike simply rang the bell in response. And just like the many times before, Steve still let the kids into the back hallway leading towards the movie theater.

"I swear, if anyone hears about this-"

"We're dead!" the kids yelled at Steve.

"Remind me why we let them in, again?" Robin asked Y/n.

"I honestly don't know anymore." she said with a shrug, getting ready to get back to work.

Y/n's Pov:

After we let the kids into the movie, the day continued as normal. Steve tried to pick up girls, he failed miserably, and Robin and I laughed at him. In fact, he is currently talking to two girls as we speak.

After giving the girls a dramatic monologue about his college situation he tried asking one of them out. As expected, he was rejected.

"And another one bites the dust!" Robin said from the back room partition, holding a scoreboard counting all of Steve's losses. "You are oh-for-six, Popeye."

"Yeah yeah, I can count." Steve said as he leaned agains the counter.

"You know that means you suck." I said to him, getting a small snicker from Robin.

"Yep, I can read too." he said

"Since when?" I asked.

"It's this stupid hat!" He said. As if he would get any girls with out it. "I'm telling you, it is totally blowing my best feature."

"If your hair is your best feature, that's the real problem." I mutter.

"Yeah, company policy is a real drag." Robin sarcastically stated. "You know, it's a crazy idea, but have you considered telling the truth?"

"Oh, you mean, that I couldn't even get into Tech, and my douchebag dad's trying to teach me a lesson, I make three bucks an hour, and I have no future? That truth?" He said.
