◟ ✦ Tell him to avenge you. ❞

LUNA KNIGHT WAS ON EDGE EVER SINCE SHE LEFT THE LOVE OF HER LIFE. The hotel room in Phoenix felt like a cage, the walls closing in as each hour passed. She threw a tennis ball at the wall, catching it with her hand, the repetitive motion barely keeping her spiraling thoughts at bay. When the ball veered out of range, she yanked it back with her abilities, the flicker of power a hollow comfort.

Her anger simmered beneath the surface, a volatile mix of frustration and self-loathing. She could hate James all she wanted, but the real fury was reserved for herself. This was her fault—all of it. The betrayal, the fear, the isolation. And the worst part? She never even got to tell him she loved him. That regret gnawed at her, a wound that refused to heal.

The sharp pop of air snapped her back to reality. She glanced down to see the tennis ball deflated in her fist, crushed by her tightening grip. With a scoff, she spun in the chair and hurled the ruined ball into the trash with more force than necessary.

A gasp from across the room made her freeze. Luna's head shot up to see Alice staring into space, her eyes glazed as Jasper demanded, "What is it? What do you see?"

"The tracker," Alice whispered, her voice eerily calm. "He just changed course."

Luna was on her feet before she realized it, her heart pounding. "Where will it take him, Alice?" Jasper pressed, his tone urgent.

"Mirrors," Alice replied, her gaze distant as she tried to focus on the vision. Jasper quickly handed her a sheet of paper and a pen. "A room full of mirrors."

"Edward said the visions aren't always certain," Luna interjected, her mind racing.

"They aren't," Jasper confirmed, his voice tense. "She sees the path people are on, but if they change their mind, the vision shifts."

"Okay, so where is this path leading now?" Luna asked, leaning over the table as Alice began to sketch. "A ballet studio?"

Both Alice and Jasper snapped their heads toward her, surprise etched on their faces. "Have you been there?" Alice asked.

"No," Luna answered slowly, taking the paper from Alice's hand. "It just... feels familiar, but I don't know why." The unease that had been growing since they left Forks now curled tightly in her stomach, a cold knot of dread.

Suddenly, her phone buzzed on the nightstand. Luna flew it into her hand, her heart already knowing who was calling. "Edward, are you okay?"

"We lost the tracker," Edward's voice was strained. "The woman's still in the area. Rosalie and Esme are going back to Forks to protect your family."
