M/n did in fact come home the next day, but she was distant and back to her former self.

"I'm going out, mama." You told her before walking out the door.

"Hi, Y/n!" Bakugou greeted with Midoriya by his side.

"Hi guys." You waved at them while jumping off of the porch.

"Uh..." Midoriya looked at you two with furrowed eyebrows. "Have your moms been acting weird?"

Bakugou nodded and you just shrugged.

"I guess so. But there's not much that's changed."

"Did uh..." Midoriya shifted nervously. "Did something happen with your mom?"

"I don't know... she hasn't been talking to me so I can't tell you."

It was quiet for a moment.

"Well! Enough of that sappy sh*t,"

"Kacchan!!"

He looked at Midoriya deadpanned.

"Enough of that sappy stuff," he corrected. "We were gonna go to the park and play, Y/n, so let's go!"

You nodded and followed the boys as they went.

"What are we playing?" You asked from the bench, legs swinging loosely while Midoriya struggled to sit between you two.

"Hm... I don't know." Bakugou sighed and leaned back on the seat.

There were a few minutes of silence that was used for thinking of a game.

"...Kacchan, I don't have a quirk." Midoriya said suddenly.

"You..." Bakugou looked at him in shock and couldn't find the words to express what he was thinking.

"But... I still want to become a hero with you guys." He looked between the two of you with a hopeful gaze. "Even without a quirk. I'll find a way to become as good as you, because I know that you guys are gonna be awesome heroes!" He exclaimed.

Your eyes shimmered with admiration.

"Midoriya..." He turned to looked at you. "We can share my quirk... I don't know how, but we will."

"Hm? Share?" Bakugou looked at you with equal confusion.

"Yeah... our quirk. I can find out how." You said with determination.

"Yeah! We can still be heroes together, Kacchan!" Midoriya exclaimed while turning to him with a wide grin.

Bakugou nodded but didn't seem excited.

"What's wrong?" You asked curiously.

He shrugged and hopped off the bench.

"I'm gonna get my ball." He started running towards the apartments, leaving you and Midoriya alone.

"Do you like playing sports?" He asked.

"I dunno... I never tried. Guess I'm not the most athletic."

"Uhm.. ath-what?" He asked, blinking owlishly as he did.

"Active... like running around and stuff. I haven't been doing that since recently." You smiled fondly. "It's fun. I like hanging out with you guys..."

"I'm glad! You're my best friend!" Midoriya exclaimed happily. "You're so cute when you smile!"

You shoved your face in your arms, feeling flustered by the recurring complement.

"You don't have to be embarrassed!"

"Uhm... Midoriya..." You looked up at him sheepishly. "When I was... before now, I felt like this." You emphasized by showing him your fingers together in a small diamond.

"That's so sad..." He said.

"But since I hang out with you, I feel like this much." You opened your arms wider, trying to show him what you meant. "The movies said that it means love."

"Really?" He asked shocked. "So what does that mean?"

"Uh..." You fiddled with your fingers nervously and leaned over to kiss his cheek again. "When we're older... I wanna be happy with you. In the movies my father watched, sometimes they protected the people they like. I want to protect you too."

He looked at you in though then smiled.
"I'll protect you too! Forever and ever and ever!"

"You will?" You asked hopefully.

"Mhm! I really like you, Y/n! This much!" He opened his arms wider as well, attempting to stretch them out farther but failing. "Ouch..."

You smiled at him again.

"Then we will. Even Bakugou, right?"

"Of course! He's our best friend too!" Midoriya exclaimed.

"Then it's settled."
'I will protect you at the cost of anything...'
