'The robots aren't a problem.' You thought, looking forward and letting out a worried meow at the sight.
You shifted back and sighed.
'I almost fell down there...' You were feeling lucky that you can turn into anything you want. 'Eagle.'
'Piece of cake.' You squawked, eyes lighting up as you landed on the ground. 'I want cake when I get home!'
"Ah! Looks like L/n's making her way to first place!"
'I've been in first place!' You thought angrily while shifting back into a cheetah. 'Why I outta...'
"It's a flashy quirk that seemingly has no limits!"
'Nevermind, I'll let you say what you have to say.'
"But the leader of the pack doesn't take long to get past our second obstacle, ladies and gents!"
You slid to a stop in front of a patch of dirt.
"This sounds wrong..." You said while shifting back to yourself. "Be careful, Todoroki."
"And nowz we've quickly arrived at the final barrier! The reality here is... that's it's a minefield!!" Present Mic announced.
'Then I can fly over it, no problem."
"I've set it up so that you can see where the mines are placed, so you have to exploit your eyes and legs!" He said. "By the way, these landmines are for games, so they're not that powerful. But they're loud and flashy enough to make you wet your pants!"
"Just my luck." You muttered. "I wish Yaoyorozu was here..."
You knew that if you flew over and people stepped on the mines, it wouldn't be good so instead you shifted into a ferret and carefully slithered through them.
"!"
The first mine went off and you almost turned around to chirp at who did it but that would cause you to step on one as well.
Then Bakugou's explosions caught up.
'I'm not dealing with this.' You thought, shifting into a falcon and diving for the end of the minefield.
"Oi, L/n is still in the lead! Wonder where she went? We'll never know!!"
'Sneaky.' you thought while reveling in the praise.
"But the rest of the pack is catching up!"
'Pack.' you tilted your head and dove for the ground, shifting into a wolf before running as fast as you could.
"Sorry, Y/n!" You could hear Midoriya say before an extremely loud and obvious explosion sounded out.
You pinned your ears against your head, reluctantly stopping to stop the RINGING IN YOUR EARS
'I won't forgive you, Izuku.' you glared at the ground, stumbling back to your feet and shifting to a cheetah to finish the goddamned race.
"Eraser Head, your class is amazing! What did you teach them?!" Present Mic exclaimed.
"I didn't do anything. They got each other fired up on their own." He replied.
You glanced back at Midoriya and shifted into a tiger, waiting for him to pass you before grabbing his shirt and running ahead.
"Eh?! What are you--"
Throwing him past the finish line, you waited a second before following yourself.
You shifted back into your normal form and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"And now they're finishing one after the other! We'll make a list of the results later, but for now, good work!"
"Hey, Y/n." Midoriya turned to look at you with a serious face. "I appreciate your help."
"Your welcome." You nodded.
"But I don't need it." He said. You blinked, eyes trailing down to the ground.
"Then what am I supposed to do?"
"I want--"
"Deku! You were amazing!" Uraraka exclaimed while running over. She looked between you two in confusion before stopping on you. "Was I..?"
"No." You shook your head and backed down.
"Deku!"
"U-Uraraka?"
"What'd you do to her?" She asked suspiciously, poking his cheek with every second.
"I-I didn't mean to..."
-
"The first game of the first-year stage is finally over." Midnight announced. "Now, take a look at the results!"
"I got second place." You said while pointing at the board.
"Wonder how that happened." Kaminari deadpanned.
"You got 24th."
"I know!"
"The top 42 made it through to the next round. It's unfortunate, but don't worry even if you didn't make it! We've prepared other chances for you to shine." She reassured while licking her lips. "The real competition begins next! The press cavalry'll be all over it! Give it your all!" She cracked her whip and the game began shuffling through. "Now then, here is the second game. I already know what it is, but what could it be? What could it be?"
"Cavalry."
"I just said it, and now here it is!" She pointed to the screen.
"A cavalry battle? I'm bad at those..." Kaminari sweatdropped.
"She said it before then." You said while tilting your head.
"It's not an individual event, so that's a bonus." Asui said.
"Let me explain." Midnight turned fully to the screen. "The participants can form teams of two to four people as they wish. It's basically the same as a regular cavalry battle, but the one thing that's different is based on the results of the last game, each person has been assigned a point value."
"A point-based system like the entrance exam, huh?" Sato pondered. "That's easy to understand."
"In other words, each team is worth different points depending on who's on the team!" Uraraka exclaimed.
"I see!" Mina said.
Midnight cracked her whip, making them pay attention again.
"You guys don't hold back even though I'm talking, huh?!" She shouted. "Well, either way, yes, that's right! And the points assigned to up by five starting from the bottom. So 42d place gets give points, 41st gets ten points! And the point value assigned to first place is..."
You looked up at the number and cringed.
"...ten million!"
"T-Ten million..?" Midoriya muttered.
'Well... he's screwed.'
