Laurance's Pov:
Garroth and I were driving home from a long day at fair. Nothing that fun, but Garroth had a fun day. "Laurance, that was so fun! I hope we can go again soon." Garroth chuckled. "We'll see." I smiled. I heard him yawn. "Looks like the fair really wore him out." I thought. My eyes stare at the road, so I don't crash. We drove down a dirt road in the middle of the forest. It is creepy, but I didn't care, since I wanted to get home. Yawning and rubbing my eyes, so I can stay awake. I know I could just find somewhere to stop and get some sleep, but I can't stop on this road and it's in the middle of the forest. I heard Garroth snoring meaning he fell asleep. Smiling at myself. If you don't know by now. Garroth and I are engaged. Yes it's not useful to know, but it's just a fun fact. I sighed to myself as I thought about memories. I got confused when fog started to appear out of no where. "What the hell?" I thought. That's when a raven flew out of no where in front of the window. Making my swerve onto a sign on the sign making me black out.
My eyes felt so heavy as I try to open them. My head hurts so bad. I lift my head up from the steering wheel. Grabbing my head and saw my hand bloody. I even tough my nose...blood. "Damn... Did we crash..." I breath out. I turn my head to my left to see Garroth wasn't in his seat. I bolted it up and get out the car. I fell to the ground and gets up again. I saw Garroth sitting away from the sign near the road, but not on the road. He held the raven. "Laurance, your okay! Thank Irene. I think you kill the raven, though..." Garroth looks at the poor raven. "I'm sorry, but I tried to swerve away from it. That was a bad idea..." I groan in pain. Garroth did almost have the same injuries as me, but we didn't have no broken bones. Which is the good thing. "Laurance, what are we going to do now? Our phones are dead. Good thing I have chargers that can charge our phones without plugging them in." Garroth sighed. "Well, we can always see if there a house somewhere around here. It's a low chance, but it be better then staying here." I said. "Good idea. I think there is a flashlight in the trunk, so we can get through the fog." Garroth gets up with the raven still in his hands. I walked to the trunk and grabbed the flashlight. Turning to Garroth and show him the flashlight is working. I accidentally flashed it to the raven in Garroth's hand. The raven woke up and cawed at us. It flew out of Garroth hands, while cawing. "Oh... Looks like he was just sleeping..." Garroth scratches the back of his neck. "Let's go through here." I point through the forest.
Garroth followed behind me as I lead the way with my flashlight. That's when we saw a small cabin with a old man sitting on the outside chair. "Hello?" I called out to the old man. "Hello, you two. You two seem like you got in a terrible accident." The old man stood up. "Yeah, we got into a crush out there. We would have someone here by now, but our phones are dead." I sighed. "Oh my, I'm glad you two aren't badly injured. How about you come in and have some tea. Until, the fog is lifted." The man smiles. "Well, what do you think Laurance?" Garroth asked. "Yeah, we have nothing to do, while waiting." I sighed and agreed. "Come in, come in." The old man opens the door.
We sat down at a small table. I looked at Garroth and he just looking around the cabin. "Pretty old timey cabin, but I don't judge." Garroth chuckles. "Is that bad thing or a good thing?" I asked. "Well, I'll say good, since everyone lives differently." Garroth smiles. We stopped chatting when the old man came up the table with the tray with cups of tea. He gave us each one cup. "Thank you." We both thank him. "Your welcome boys." The man smiles and sat down. Garroth picks up the cup and takes a sip. "Wow this is tasty." Garroth smiles. "Thank you, it's handmade." The man smiles. "Woah, I always wanted to make my own tea. Store bought is okay." Garroth laughs a little. The man chuckled and looked at me. "So, why were you boys on the road, so late at night." The man said. "Well, we were going home from a day at the fair. We didn't realize the time, so we left late." I sighed and take a sip of tea. "I see... Well, don't worry you boys will get home soon." He smiles at me. My mind is thinking now. "This man is acting a little weird. Yes, he does seem like a sweet old man, but he not acting right... Plus while I was talking to him. I saw him kept glaring at Garroth. Garroth didn't seem to notice." I thought. "Laurance, I fell very sleepy." Garroth yawns. "Garroth? Is there something wrong?" I grab his hand. "I don't know, but I feel funny... So, dizzy too..." Garroth grabs his head. That's when, Garroth slammed his head on the table the tea cup dropped from his hand and smashed on the floor. I shook him, but he is out cold. "Garroth! Garroth! Are you okay?! Don't joke around with me!" I yelled at him. My heart started to pound faster and faster as I saw Garroth is sound asleep. All the sudden I felt sleepy. "What the hell?..." I groan. I slump back in the chair. I saw the old man smiling at me. "Why are you...smiling?..." I asked before blacking out.
