Tanjiro was writing in a journal that read "Journal Tanjiro Kamado." With Nezuko sleeping by his side, Tanjiro left the room and went to Sakonji who was turning out the light.
Sakonji: Let's go.
Tanjiro: Where's Y/n?
Sakonji: He said he was going to get something and come right back.
Y/n opened the entrance door and he was holding a sword sized box with him.
Y/n: I'm back.
Sakonji noticed the box.
Sakonji: What is in that box?
Y/n: When I join the Corps, I'll show you.
He placed the box down and looked at Sakonji and Tanjiro.
Y/n: Now, shall we get to training?
Tanjiro: Right.
Sakonji sat Tanjiro and Y/n down and told them about the Demon Slayer Corps.
Sakonji: The Demon Slayer Corps, number in the hundreds. An organization completely unrecognized by the government. Since ancient times, we have existed to hunt down demons. However, the identity of the Demon Slayer Corps leader, has always remained a mystery. Demons. Their staple food, humans. They hunt and kill them. It is unclear when or where they first appeare. Remarkable physical prowess. Their wounds heal almost instantly. Flesh completely restores itself, severed limbs regenerated. Some can shape shift. Some have other powers. They can only be killed by sunlight or decapitation with a special sword. The Demon Slayers fight these demons with mear mortal bodies. As humans, wounds are slow to heal, and they're lost limbs are unable to come back. Never the less, they fight... to protect and defend humanity.
Y/n: All right, now that you explained everything to the amateur, let's get this training started.
Sakonji: My, aren't you the eager one. I am a trainer. My job is to teach new swordsmen. There are many other trainers, each one is different. They all educate their students using their own methods. I'm sure you can confirm, Y/n.
Y/n: Yes. My master taught me the basics and I learned the first four forms of Wind Breathing under him. But I have a feeling you will train me differently than he did.
Sakonji: I might even train you completely different than I train Tanjiro. I will tell you the reason later. To complete your training and join the Demon Slayer Corps, you both will have to survive the Final Selection process on Mount Fujikasane. And I decide whether you two take that challenge or not. Now, Tanjiro, you will start your training by running down this mountain again. But this time you will not have Y/n to help you.
Tanjiro: Okay.
Sakonji: Y/n, while he is doing that I will give you another test.
Y/n: With any luck, this one might be a challenge.
Sakonji took Y/n aside to a clearing in the mountain.
Y/n: So, what do I need to do?
Sakonji: I want you to have a duel with me. Just to see where you are.
Y/n: Okay, but go get a sword first. I refuse to fight someone unarmed.
Sakonji: I will say this, your since of honor is admirable.
