Chapter 13

"Is that what I think it is?" I asked suddenly nervous. I always imagined how the proposal would go. Would it be magical? Will it be at a fancy restaurant? Actually, since he's doing it right now. Im guessing it's going to be inside a car. Okay, I can work with this.

"Yeah, it is. You can't go in there without a ring. Dad won't believe us." He said laughing, as though he said the worlds funniest joke. I silently scolded myself for ever believing that this was more than a business deal.

Josh will never like me. And, I will never like him. Josh would never change for me, and I can't have myself believing that. He opened the velvet box, and I gasped. It was...huge. Now, I knew what people meant when they described rings as rocks.

He smirked at my shocked expression, "You like?" He asked, already putting the ring on my finger. I just continued to stare at it. But, that was all ruined when Josh dumped this huge folder in my lap. I raised an eyebrow at him,

"Whats this?" I asked afraid that I'll ruin my ring if I picked up the folder. Josh looked down at the folder,

"That's everything there is to know about me. My favorite food. My favorite color. My favorite day of the week." What the fudge? Who has a favorite day of the week? Oh yeah, I do. It's Saturday.

"Why would I need this now. We have to get going or were gonna be late-" Josh shook his head cutting me off.

"Actually, the dinner doesn't start until like thirty minutes. You need to know this stuff, just in case my dad asks you some serious questions. Like, my favorite food or something. And, I know you have photographic memory, so reading this stuff shouldn't be that hard." I frowned at him,

"Your favorite food, is a serious question?" I asked and he nodded. Rolling my eyes I opened the book and then raised an eyebrow at him, "How do you know I have photographic memory?" I asked and he just shrugged,

"I did a background check," I gaped at him, "Yeah, I know that you Charlotte Carissa Bell, are eighteen years old. You are a senior in high school, with straight A's. You have photographic memory, your blood type is O negative. And, you had a Barbie fetish when you were young." WTF? I continued to stare at him with wide eyes.

"What?" He asked as though doing a background check was a normal everyday thing. "I had to get a background check. I couldn't marry a stranger, Charlie. Come on you have straight A's, think." I glared at him and he raised his arms in a surrender,

"But seriously, you have to know this stuff." I frowned at him,

"Why didn't you give me this stuff earlier?" I asked and he shrugged,

"I forgot." He forgot? Well, isn't this the beginning to a lovely marriage. That's probably going to be filled with I forgot's and migraines. I looked down at the page. Favorite color: Light blue.

I sighed and looked over all the pages. Aren't I gad I have photographic memory. After fifteen seconds of looking through the papers. I sighed and looked up at Josh who was staring at me curiously,

"So?" Josh asked after a while. I raised an eyebrow at him and he continued, "Did it work? If it did answer this....When did I lose my virginity?" I choked on air and frowned at Josh,

"Ew. Gross. What goes on in that dirty mind of yours." It was quiet for a while, so I rolled my eyes, "March fifteenth, 2005." I said and Josh sighed sitting back in the seat,

"I remember that day. I finally got Jenny all to myself. But, I thought we were just going on a date. I was just fifteen. But, she took me to her place and she-"
