Chapter 15
I licked my double-scooped vanilla ice cream. That had chunks of oreos in it. I had to give it to Josh. He actually made me forget about him being jealous of Alex for a moment. Just a moment.
Its been urking my mind since we got the ice cream. Right now we were parked at some park. Eating ice cream on some bench. When I was little I rarely went to parks. And, when I did I usually spent my time on the swings.
I looked over at Josh. Who was looking a lot like a sex god. As usually. His dark hair slightly out of place, which looked sexy on him. His cold blue eyes were glazed over. He had a faraway look on his face. As though he was thinking about something really hard.
I have so many questions for him. Why he ignored me for three days. Why he suddenly showed up acting as though he was my father. And, my lover. Which is kind of creepy, yet it didn't creep me out. Weird...
Why was he so jealous and possessive? Alex is just a friend. A very cute friend who may have feelings for me. But, Josh doesn't need to know that. Anyway, I wanted to ask him so many questions. But, when I looked over at him I noticed he looked tired. Stressed.
Bags were under his eyes. He kind of looked half-human/half-zombie. A very cute half-zombie. I can't believe I just noticed this. Without even realizing it my fingers reached out and traced the bag under his left eye,
"When was the last time you slept? You look like shit." My mouth clamped shut. And, I slowly removed my hand from Josh's face. Josh looked looked shocked by my choice of words. But slowly a smiled bloomed on his face. Even if it didn't reach his eyes, it was still a cute smile.
"Gee thanks. I got up this morning just hoping that someone would tell me that I looked like shit. Really, a dream has just come true." I rolled my eyes at Josh's comment,
"You're changing the subject, Josh. Now answer the question. When was the last time you slept?" He immediately frowned, his dark blue gaze capturing me in a trance.
"Do you really care? Or, are you asking for the sake of being nice?" I frowned at his words. What? I immediately shook my head,
"Of course I care. I wouldn't ask if I didn't." Josh scoffed and continued to frown,
"It didn't seem like you cared when you were flirting your ass off with that boy. What was his name....Oscar? Amber-"
"Alex." I interrupted him and he frowned again nodding his head. What was he going on about? "I wasn't flirting with Alex. We were having a conversation. And, even if we were it's none of your business." Josh nostrils flared,
"None of my business?! You're my business Charlotte. And, when other guys flirt with you, and you flirt back. It's my business. And besides, what if paparazzi followed you. What would they say when they see you and Alex flirting with each other. They'll think you're cheating on me."
I frowned at the ice cream cone in my hand. Suddenly not in the mood for ice cream. Is that why he's mad? Paparazzi?
Of course not. No matter how bad paparazzi is, nobody would go all ape shit on a guy because of paparazzi. Josh was jealous and we both know it. I frowned at him,
"What is this really about, Josh? And, don't give me some bull about paparazzi. Tell me the truth." It became silent after that. You could hear kids playing in the background. That's when I realized that we were still at a public park. Where they could probably hear us cursing each other.
Josh sighed looking over at me before he started to talk, "I just....I just didn't like the way he looked at you. I could tell that he liked you and that bothered me. I guess I overreacted and I became very....possessive." I raised my eyebrow at the I guess part. But didn't comment on it.
