Chapter 21
My eyes were as wide as saucers, the moment Josh's soft lips connected with mine. To say I was shocked, would be an understatement. It took me a few minutes to actually respond to the kiss. I slowly moved my lips with his. And, everything started to fit into place. My lips molded into his, as his hands got tangled into my hair.
I wrapped my arms around Josh's neck, and started to play in his soft, dark hair. I started to tug, and he moaned. He bit my lip, and I gasped. His tongue slipped into my mouth. He tasted like champagne and mint. A bad combination, yet I wanted more. His hands were everywhere. From my hair to my waist, slowly gliding up my back.
Everywhere his hands would go, a trail of warmth would follow. I'm actually surprised no one could hear our moans. But, then I remembered there was a party going on outside. Slowly, Josh removed his lips from mine. I whimpered from the loss of contact, when suddenly Josh was kissing down my neck. And, then he pulled back.
I opened my eyes to look into a pair of dark blue ones. Josh leaned forward and kissed my forehead, "What are you doing to me?" He asked softly. I didn't know if I was suppose to answer back or not. I was still trying to recover from the kiss. I touched my lips, because they felt tingly. I slowly opened my mouth to reply,
"What do you mean?" I asked back, just as softly as he did. He just continued to look into my eyes, searching. Searching for what? I have no clue. But, I guess he found it since he replied back. He hesitated,
"I...I can't stop thinking about you. I've always been a player. When you grow up with money, girls are just given to you. And, I played them. I used them, and then I would throw them away. I never cared about a girl before except my mom, of course.
"I don't know how to say this...." He trailed off, looking confused. I grabbed his hand, and gave it a reassuring squeeze. He looked into my eyes, and I almost flinched away from the intensity I found in them.
"When I look at you, it feels like theirs something in my stomach. Fluttering." Josh said frowning slightly. I snorted, and his eyes snapped back to mine. I but my lip to hold back a giggle,
"Do you mean butterflies, Josh?" I asked and Josh looked down blushing. I couldn't hold it anymore. I started to laugh. And, I mean full on knee-slapping laughter. Tears were streaming down my face. Josh frowned,
"This isn't funny, Charlotte. I'm telling you how I feel, and you're laughing at me." I quickly shook my head, and stopped laughing. I quickly hugged josh, and he hugged me back.
"Okay, okay I'm done laughing. And, I'm sorry. It's just....I've never heard a guy admit that he has butterflies in his stomach before. It's just so.....funny- I mean, different. It's....different." Josh pulled back and rolled his eyes at me,
"But, I'm serious Charlie. I've never felt this way about a girl before. I-I really care about you, Charlotte." Im sure my mouth was grazing the ground. Josh cares about me? All thoughts about butterflies, flew out the window. I stared at Josh with wide eyes.
I quickly closed my mouth, and pretended that I wasn't just staring at him like a rapist or something. I looked at Josh and then looked down. Then I looked back at Josh,
"Really?" I said softly, and breathless. His thumb was suddenly caressing my cheek. He smiled at me, and I smiled back,
"Yes." I sighed in relief. I'm glad I finally know how Josh feels. Let's face it, the guy is a mystery. I smiled at him,
"Good. Because, I care about you too. A lot." I said and Josh grinned, showing a pair of dimples. Suddenly, his lips were on mine again. I smiled and kissed him back with as much passion as he was giving me. Suddenly the door opened. I quickly stepped away from Josh.
